Yeah they won the manufcatures/teams championship. After Ford pulled the plug. Though in hindsight, Ford had a lot of that going on last year VASC wasn't the only thing. Which made them look stupid because what they did support in racing sucked.

And I agree with @05XR8 on the Volvo bit too, had they stayed a year perhaps or two, they'd have gotten the DC or Team/Manufacture especially if they swapped out for a better second driver, or just did better team efforts to support their second driver.

For a couple years now VASC has seemed like a series that shows tons of Irony when manufactures give up but the teams that run them are stronger willed than most Motorsports outfits. I mean look at Erebus even, first year after Merc was a teething year and getting back in order and then these past couple of years they've been a solid top 4 or 5 team. Had Mercedes actually backed them, who knows what they could of done.

Even with an uncompetitive car, they won two races(Winton and Barbagallo) and came 4th at Bathurst and SANDOWN. Plus, the sound of the cars in their first season. :drool:

Just in infuriated me, AMG Germany were cool with it and AMG Australia not giving a rats ass.

Happy for EM now, but oh what could have been with those E63s...
 
Oh the irony... Only makes the win for Nissan soo much better.

Exactly and Erebus at that time was a pretty strong GT3 team too, in a category that is very hard to come out on top (VASC isn't easy either) and yet AMG Australia still felt the need not to ever support the effort. It's strange to me that especially Supercar teams, are willing to work with manufactures build the cars themselves and even do the testing and updating, and pretty much all they ask is the use of a silhouette and engine with funding. Manufactures that are truly invested tend to do more (Holden).
 
And look at this, with 6 minutes to go in qualy, 3Nissans in top 10.

Edit: Awesome qualy. Same top 4 as yeaterday.
Longer race. Going to be a good one.

Funny that SuperUtes used the Amarok rear subframe as reference, but there's not one racing.
 
People watched the Utes for the beating and banging, bit of a racing guilty pleasure. The Superutes definitely need about 20 utes or so for the action to come. With 11 utes, they spread out very quickly, and the vehicles themselves aren’t interesting enough to watch on their own.
 
The Utes need taller suspension, no anti-roll bars and way more torque. Maybe then they'll be a bit more interesting to watch - leaning over like the Tower of Pisa into the corners and smoking the rears like a chain smoker out of them. Smoke and sideways, now that's a spectacle.
 
Courtney is having a bit of a sleepy leg problem. What else can go wrong for him this weekend?

Nowhere near as entertaining as yesterday's race but anyway, massive credit to Coulthard, that was a flawless performance.

And now the month long wait for the next round begins.
 
Maybe time for VASC to start displaying flags on the podium. They all got proper trophies this time.
 
Always good having an extra car or two on the grid, always thought the wildcards were a great idea. Would be good Tickford could get Randle a round, or MWM a round for Jacobson.

Yeah, same. Shame that they don't do it for a few more events through the year, it's a good way to get S2 drivers some main game experience.
 
The Rockhampton track looks really good too, has a European look to it, with the way the run off is designed.
 


All they had to do was look at the GT Sport Gr. 3 Mustang liveries.

I remember, for a while, V8SC compared the series more towards NASCAR. Now, it's like they're chasing chasing F1. Not good.
