Ok. So as a Newcastle fan I'm crossing everything I can that this proposed takeover happens. I just want rid of Ashley and if some bloke with lots of money wants to take his place and throw money at us then I'm ok with that. However, we've been here many times before so until I see somebody else in the flesh sat in the directors box at the first game next season I wont believe it.

So how long until Newcastle become a feeder club for City and City start sending their cast offs on loan to Newcastle?

Hopefully that doesn’t happen, but I’m sure it will be better for Newcastle fans either way.

Footage has emerged of Arsenal fans being stopped by Police in Baku because they were wearing 'Mkhitaryan 7' Arsenal shirt.

Shameful!

Leonardo steps down from his Sporting Director role at Milan. Rino Gattuso is also exiting the Rossoneri and he leaves €11m on the table, reportedly so that his staff is paid in full.

Gigio Donnarumma is all but sold after the team missed the Champions League by a point.

Petr Cech starts for Arsenal in his last game before retirement, Kante also starts for Chelsea after a knee injury.

And with that, Arsenal are in this year's Europa League and England has seven clubs competing in Europe this year. Eight if you count TNS.

---

Fun poll added for this year's thread; UEFA will kill domestic leagues once and for all!

So with the Champions League done and dusted for another season that means the 2018-19 season over, however there is plenty of Football on over the Summer. Here's a guide.

UEFA Nations League Finals (on this week)
Euro 2020 Qualifiers (from Friday)
Women's World Cup (starts Friday)
African Cup Of Nations (21 June-19 July)
Copa America (14 June-7 July)

I have a Nations League thread, Famine has a Euro 2020 Qualifying thread, I would be up for starting a Women's World Cup thread if there is enough interest.

No idea how accurate this site is but it claims to have all teams wage budgets:
https://www.capology.com/club/liverpool/salaries

It only has the Top 5 leagues but I'm surprised that the premier league teams are not dominating the wage bill rankings, Tottenham are doing very well considering how low they are paying but Bayern, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Juventus are far exceeding any Premier league club in how much they spend on wages so it can explain why they are able to keep such powerful teams.
Man Utd despite their massive worth is not spending anywhere near their potential going by this.

It wears a canary yellow shirt, likes to roll on the floor pretending to be injured, and once again has somethings to actually cry about.

Tore a ligament in his ankle during a friendly against Qatar.

I hope he keeps this up.

Eden Hazard to Real Madrid from Chelsea looks to be done, for around 100 million Euros, which is a steal!

A lot or reports about Swansea's Daniel James having a medical at Man United today but nothing from the club nor the player yet, transfer set to be worth £18 million, 15 mill of which will be up front with 3 mill addons.

The FA has decided to charge Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri with use of aggravated and abusive language (referring to race) in a pre-season friendly.

This is weird for three reasons. Firstly, the friendly was in July 2018. Secondly, the FA already banned him for three games over the incident in August 2018. Lastly, Derbyshire Police charged Forestieri with racially aggravated harassment, and he was found not guilty in court in March.

From what I read on the BBC website @Famine he was banned for the melee that followed this alleged racist abuse and likely since the alleged comments then became a Police matter they couldn't include that in the charge at the time and can only do so now (actually months later because that's what the FA does) because he was found not guilty in court.

The FA also don't require the same amount of evidence to find someone guilty as the courts do and he likely will be found guilty having been charged, just as John Terry was months after he was cleared in court of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand and he will probably be banned for four matches as Terry was too, unless they really don't like the guy (with his record that is very possible), then he might even get a bigger ban.

Man United have just put out a statement regarding Daniel James, they say they have agreed a fee with Swansea and that James passed a medical yesterday. likely that the signing will be formally announced next week after Wales' qualifiers v Croatia and Hungary of which James is playing a part in.

I'm quite happy with this, although of course I do feel a bit conflicted, James was fantastic in his breakout season for Swansea last season, he is a young hungry and talented player who should fit right in at United and its exactly the sort of player United should be signing, not older players past their best.

The money will of course come in handy for Swansea but that will depend on if the stingy American owners let them spend the £15 million.

Leyton Orient manager Justin Edinburgh has sadly passed away today at the age of 49, he suffered a cardiac arrest on Monday, he took Orient back into the Football League only a month ago.

As a player he made 215 appearances for Tottenham between 1991 and 1999 winning the League Cup and FA Cup, he also played for Southend and Portsmouth, as a manager he led Newport to back-to-back promotions from 2011 before taking over at Leyton Orient in 2017. he attended the Champions League final last week but was hospitalized just two days later.

Very sad news. 👎

Very sad news indeed - tragic for his family and a great loss for the game of football. R.I.P.

Man United reportedly make a second improved bid for Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Crystal Palace, Palace looking towards Max Aarons of Norwich as his replacement.

The USA Womens team have just won their first match in the World Cup by beating Thailand 13-0

That's a record in the FIFA World Cup, Men's or Women's.

That's terrible news. He did a great job with the O's last season. RIP.

Over in Serie A, Sarri is expected to be announced as the new manager of Juventus today. Reports have also come out that AC Milan are at a loss of €413m through the last 5 years and need an influx of at least €30m by June 30th to avoid further FFP penalties. Donnarumma is high on PSG's list after Leonardo joined the club as a director. He could go for around €60m while Suso is rumored to be on Atletico Madrid's radar for around €30m.

Daniel James to Man United is a done deal on a five contract with an option of a sixth. 👍

Premier League fixtures are out tomorrow.

Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic and Ferland Mendy to Real Madrid. With James Rodriguez and Mateo Kovacic back from loan.

And Zidane still wants to improve the team even more, with the likes of Paul Pogba (and less likely Kylian Mbappe).

And the summer window has just started!

Some massive signings at Real for huge money, and its only June, they are not messing around!

James Rodriguez will be sold though, rumored to be going to the Premier League or back to Ancelotti at Napoli.
