2019 NTT IndyCar SeriesOpen Wheel

I'm sure it's a bit different in person, but watching the onboard view makes that central post look so obstructive. In the turns it's not so bad because you'd be leaning and looking off-center, but going down any straight, such as at Indy, it looks so hard to see/focus down the road right in front of you. This sure seems like it would be important at over 220 mph. Of course, I'll bow to Scott Dixon on that - if he says it's fine then it's fine - I just hope they don't look as hideous as the F1 Halo.
I've heard you kinda see past it IRL. Like hold your finger in front of your face and you can kind of see around it. Something similar.

Indy Car doesn't do full race replays of previous races? On their Youtube channel there is replays of classic races from several years ago but there are none from this year.

They stopped uploading them when NBC got the exclusive rights. Which is weird because NASCAR and IMSA post theirs. Probably something to do with NBC's IndyCar Pass.

I also thought they used to. That's a shame. Not a good way to build a fan base if you're only relying on a one time live viewing of a race.

Well, that was a bit of a snoozer, at least the Wickens segment and lap made it worthwhile.

Hopefully Iowa is a good show as I'll be there.

Finally home, had a really good time there. My phone's battery isn't what it used to be so it did not last long, burned most of the battery in the paddock and pits. I doubt I'll get grandstand tickets next time, I liked wandering around the track and seeing it from different corners. Sitting in the grandstands was hot af anyway, especially on race day. I uploaded some things to my imgur account. I wish I had a good camera for the technical bits, it was like looking at car porn.

vids have no sound for whatever reason (im an imgur noob). This is during the warm up on sunday which was at 12:30 or so.

I also watched qualifying from behind Rossi's pitbox, it was a great experience to be so close to the action. Good luck getting that close at an F1 race!

Edit: It was admirable watching the pit crews do their thing. I watched Dixon’s crew change the rear springs and some other bits during the warm up and they did it in only a few minutes.

So why is there no rain in New Hampshire for the NASCAR weekend? Because Mother Nature decided that Indycar hadn't had some in a while. Unfortunatly, they're racing on an oval tonight...

Just tuned into NBCSN for Indy coverage but found they must have switched to the IMSA replay. Is Indycar under a rain delay? Furthermore, does anyone know if they pushed it to Sunday? Don't see anything online yet so I imagine this is all developing.

Currently under weather delay. Race still scheduled for tonight.

It has not been postponed yet, but there is a massive storm right now. Thankfully the track has lights.

I drove 4.5 hours to sit in the Iowa Speedway bathroom.

Hopefully it clears up.

Edit: I made it back to the hotel, it's only 10 minutes from the track so if they get it in tonight I can just hop back over.

I've sat through four hours of Sky repeats and we finally have a chance of a race.

Cars are on pit road, so hopefully.

Glad they’re putting on a proper night race and not just moving to a Sunday afternoon race
It's gonna be almost 3AM where I am by the time this race finishes. It's fine. I didn't need to sleep anyway.

Edit: NBC reporting 10 minutes till command.

Lmao that’s fair. But I need to be up at 3 AM for some F1 races so that’s international motorsport for ya haha

I mean. China is the worst for me as you've got to decide between going to sleep and waking up for the start at 8. Or staying up.

The other Asian races are fine with the worst being 7am.

I know Ferrucci has a checkered past, but I cant help but be impressed at his performance this year.

Also, some day I will get my act together and pack warm clothing just in case (this happens more than I'd like to admit). The storm removed all the warmth from the air.

Don't know if I'm gonna make it the whole way thru. I'm so tired. 177 to go...

On that last restart, Ferrucci passed 7 cars in the span of turn 2 to turn 4. On the outside. Incredible.

It almost wouldn't be an IndyCar race without something bad happening to Sato. :(

I was looking forward to see how his wacky strategy was going to work out.

Ferrucci's been really fun to watch all raceseason.
