Now do a GT3 Touring in the Targa. That's the one that makes sense.
Never did understand Cabrio love, I think the Targa is the best version of the whole thing. Now do a GT3 Touring in the Targa. That's the one that makes sense.

Ok, this is getting somewhat silly to me… So this so-called Porsche 911 Challenge is an entry-level cup car based on the GT3 road car… While the 911 GT3 Cup is already an entry-level cup car based on the GT3 road car, while the 911 GT4 is the model that slots below the 911 GT3 Cup, but not the 911 Challenge which is also based on the 911 GT3 road car…Porsche just announced the 911 Challenge, a new one-make racer largely based on the standard 911 GT3 road car.

This car being announced is also how I learned that Porsche NA has a lower-level championship below the Carrera Cup. Like the new 911 GT4, I'm assuming this car is intended to also replace the existing Cayman-based cars that are currently racing.
The 911 actually predates the Cayman in GT4 competition. The 997 GT3 Cup was used by a couple different teams at the start of the category’s life until Porsche started offering a dedicated Cayman GT4 model. It still feels weird to see a 911 GT4 for me. It just feels like that's solely the Caymans category.
