Not for nothing, but Maurice Trintignant was entered as #44 for the 1955 Monaco GP, which was their first F1 win as a constructor at the circuit. At his retirement in '64, Maurice had the highest tally of GP starts.

The Monaco GP wasn't actually used for F1/F2 racing between 1951-54. Ferrari did win the 1952 Monaco GP, run as a sports car event, with Vittorio Marzotto behind the wheel of a 225S.

Also didn't Lewis sign a multi year contract last year, would be surprised if it was a single year contract going off how Toto was rambling each round that Lewis is ready to sign any day now.

Rumours say Lewis wanted 2 years + 1 optional, Merc only 1 year and then agreed to 1 + 1 optional and Lewis wasn't very happy with it. The reason it took quiet some time to be finalised last year.

As a definite outsider of the F1 circus who is even more clueless than an average F1 fan, I can only imagine this to be the biggest reason Hamilton’s joining Ferrari next year. Dude’s said before in an interview that he really has nothing to gain anymore from racing in F1 nowadays when Merc announced that he is remaining with them in 2024. “If I win they’re gonna say I’m a 7-time champ. If I lose then they say I were winning because of the car” something along those lines.

So I think he’s joining Ferrari in the hopes that if he manages to revitalize their championship bid then maybe he can silence the critics (by beating Schumi both in overall championships and no. of teams he’s won the champ with). But it still sounds like a risky move to me that can fall flat especially if Merc manage to produce a winning car with his aid in a parallel universe, so to speak.

But I think looking in retrospect, it would fare better than the Danny Ric from RB to Renault move, primarily because HAM is a 7-time championship winner by now, and teams would probably reveal more to a champion than just to a race winner, and he’s probably convinced enough that Ferrari has the ambition and the means to win it.

Just read he activated a release clause.
Either Early testing is showed lewis the 2024 car is **** or it really does seem like going to Ferrari is going to be his swansong.

I tend to disagree as I like the black backboard for design but I can also see the appeal of fully coated cars in various colours again. Mclaren makes the best use of the carbon (imo). Do Ferrari, Alpine and AMR just suck it up and run a weight deficit for looks? How does that work?

Would assume its due to the national colors used for racing

Ferrari in Rossa Corsa
Alpine in Blu de France
Aston Martin in British Racing Green

I dunno man, I think if he wins races for them they would change their tune. Everyone knows that the tifosi would support Satan if he drove for Ferrari.

Some might even argue that he already has. :lol: :P
 
I just realized the most insane irony of this: Schumacher had so much of his success at Ferrari and ended his Career at Mercedes. Hamilton has so much of his Success at Mercedes and looks to be ending his career at Ferrari.

Both 7 time Champs.

Edit: Just remembered that Mick, despite racing for Alpine in the WEC this season, is still a Mercedes Test driver (Last I checked anyway). Would it be possible for him to take that seat in 2025?

The biggest difference between the two drivers, though, is that Schumi came back from retirement, and just so happened to join Mercedes.

Hamilton on the other hand has been in F1 ever since, and wants to join Ferrari because it's his last chance.

Yes he will stay test driver and primary exchange despite driving the Alpine in WEC. He is probably on the list but very far at the end and I don't think this is likely to happen and Totos praises will not convert into a drive. Even if it's kind of not fair but that's F1 and I don't think he will ever get a full time F1 cockpit again. Too many drivers and too few cockpits and now people staying in F1 into their 40s. There are many talents without a drive who never got a chance and this will continue with the actual state of F1.

This car doesn't seem that much different than their 23 car, so is this just a livery reveal as it seems to be the ongoing trend lately or is that the actual car?

Yep, the new car will probably unveiled during testing or a shakedown.
