No matter how badly Manchester United's start to the season has been, it's fun knowing they're ahead of City in the league now
I hadn't seen that.

Three ex-United bosses sacked so far this season...

Solskjaer got binned by Besiktas on Thursday after eight months in charge, Mourinho bounced out of Fenerbahce on Friday after a year, but the most excruciating of the lot has to be Ten Hag who was fired by Bayer Leverkusen today after two league games (three in total):

Excluding temp bosses like Rangnick, that's the last three United bosses too. I wonder if fans are crossing fingers that Amorim is next

The writing was on the wall when in his first pre-season friendly, Ten Hag's Leverkusen lost 5-1 to Flamingo U20's

Alexander Isak is having a medical at Liverpool ahead of a British record £125 million move from Newcastle.
Liverpool have also agreed a deal with Crystal Palace for defender Marc Guehi for £35 million.
Newcastle are signing Yoane Wissa from Brentford for £55 million.
Man United have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens from Antwerp for £18 million.
Aston Villa has signed Victor Lindelof on a free and are in talks to sign Jadon Sancho on loan from Man United and Harvey Elliot also on loan from Liverpool.
Bayern Munich have agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea.
Fulham are in talks to sign winger Tyrique George from Chelsea for £22 million.
Man City are in talks to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG with both Ederson and Manuel Akanji set to leave the club.
Wolves has signed striker Tolu Akorodare from Genk for £24 million.
Spurs are signing striker Randal Kolo Moani from PSG on loan.

Pretty busy deadline day so far, window shuts at 7pm so in around two hours.

There are Manchester United fans calling for Grimsby to be ejected...
"Man Utd fined for fielding useless players during their famous Grimsby Town defeat" would be more apt I reckon.

The punishment for Grimsby should be the same as for prior similar infractions, whatever that has been.

United shouldn't appeal, Odour had no bearing on the game and we scored twice after he came on, he also missed a penalty in the shootout.

I think it would be a bit pathetic if we did appeal.

By the time he came on, there was definitely an Odour, since all the Man Utd players must have done one in their pants

But yes I agree it would make Man Utd look ridiculous if they did appeal.

Nuno Espirito Santo has been sacked by Nottingham Forest, it comes after reports of a rift between him and owner Marinakis. Santo had signed a new contract at the club a few months ago.

Its a pretty staggering decision either way considering how well Forest did last season and it was all down to Santo, he was the best thing to happen to that club in years.

Odds on Danny Rohl?

Ange Postecoglu is the new Nottingham Forest head coach and he has signed a three year contract.

The former Spurs head coach was the one and only choice clearly as Santo was only sacked late last night and Ange was hired earlier this morning, Ange does play a completely different style to Santo so its interesting from that stand point and he did win the Europa League with Spurs last night but had a terrible time in the league.

4pts out of a possible 15 for us to start life in the Championship. There's not a single Wrexham fan who expected us to breeze this league and comfortably stay up - neither before the season started nor after the signings made - but struggling like this given £30m spent is naturally going to lead to questions being asked whether Phil Parkinson can turn it around.

Some things we do really well like flank balls and deep crosses to target men but what we're not doing well is killing us; our defensive decision making borders on comical and I can't understand why some players under pressure play a two-yard pass to someone else under pressure or a hospital ball straight into the opposition's feet. There's a lot of nervousness in the midfield and we're not getting those lucky second balls.

Any fans of other clubs enjoying the target on our back, go ahead. It comes with the territory. I'll take some Schadenfreude whilst enjoying the most positively surreal, wildest ride my footballing life has ever been on.

Arsenal 3-0 Forest
Palace 0-0 Sunderland
Everton 0-0 Aston Villa
Fulham 1-0 Leeds
Newcastle 1-0 Wolves
Bournemouth 2-1 Brighton
West Ham 0-3 Spurs
Brentford 2-2 Chelsea
Burnley 0-1 Liverpool
Man City 3-0 Man United

I cant seem Amorim lasting much longer at United, the 3412 system just doesn't work and a few players are playing out of position because of it, he seems too stubborn to change it despite the poor form and if it carries on I think he will be gone pretty soon. I know we change our managers a lot but if something isn't working either he has to change it or the club will do it for him.

Liverpool are top of the league even though they are grinding out the wins right now, good wins for Arsenal, Spurs and City, Sunderland have had a good start. No wins for Wolves and West Ham continue to struggle, Aston Villa still yet to score in the league.

Champions League starts this week, with a few League Cup games.

I wonder if during the interview process for the jobs, Amorim and Postecoglu were asked if they would change their system and both of them said, "No I will not change". Surely you would have to know that before you hire a manager.

Postecoglu was slaughtered for his inflexibility last season but Amorim hasn't had anywhere near the same level of welly thrown at him.

Amorim had the excuse of "well I don't have the players" but then has just gone through a transfer window and only bought Forwards who need service that the current midfield and defenders cannot do, because they were the ones incompatible with the Amorim system. How they A: didn't buy any Defenders and Midfielders for Amorim and B: Amorim is still in the job despite having the worst Win Percentage of any Manchester United manager since WW2.

Get ready for the Championship next season.

Don't play the system then. This is top flight football in the most reputable league in the world. If you come in tactically inflexible, that's your problem whether you've got good players or not. Given that Amorim took the club's ultimatum of joining mid-season (he wanted to wait until the end of the season), he knew what he was getting himself into.

Dang. I was enjoying that.
Even more bizarre - Selles has now been replaced by the manager he replaced, who replaced the manager who took over when he was sacked the first time 🤣😂

Or to put it another way, 3 of the last 5 managers are/were Chris Wilder 🤣😂

Wilder still has a few more times to go before he can match Billy Martin that managed the New York Yankees 5 different times.
