Jacob Abel who was legal and bumped should be starting 32 and let that cheating Penske team pick which car is 33rd.

The explanation they gave is the car was legal on Saturday and was made illegal on Sunday. What I don't understand is how the first car was allowed through and then they told them the car couldn't qualify. The other teams are furious about this so I wonder if Penske is going to put the series above his team (again, like St. Petersburg last year) again and perhaps indefinitely suspend and/or fire Cindric.

If it was me, both cars should be disqualified and have a 32 car race (bringing back Abel), end of. If the alterations hadn't been found in the pits but instead after the race, then they would have been disqualified then.

The simple fact is that qualifying has been conducted and scrutineered after the event, and it's the second time they have cheated so egregiously, that I see it's the only way to distance Roger from this.

This cheat was used last year too, the inspectors either turned a blind eye to it under orders or just missed it.

And honestly if they had applied some carbon fiber colored vinyl instead of a black seam they would still be getting away with it.

2024 Victory Celebration: that's really really embarrassing...

Roger must be livid to basically clean house on the Indy side. From the Push to Pass fiasco last year to the attenuator on Newgarden's 24 Indy 500 looking like it was modified. Then they got caught modifying it live on air during qualifying. To top it off, Cindric's interview sounded extremely evasive and clueless.

I know its Penske and both he his teams have never been shy about finding a loophole in the rulebook, but one can wonder if he made this decision knowing his cars got caught cheating in the series he owns outright in the biggest race of the series and one of the most significant races in all of motorsports. It makes me wonder if he's trying to promote some sort of integrity or if he's just trying to save face. Either way, as I said earlier, he's got to be livid to be cleaning house.

My guess is the former. Can't have special rules for his team like that. If nothing was done, we might have seen a repeat of the CART/IRL fiasco.

It had to be done but it might be too late.

Penske saying that in 2024 "...we had 9 attenuators that were modified by Dallara back at the beginning of 2024...".
Modified by Dallara?
edit: well I guess it was just some sort of speech error.

Cool, cloudy and a slight chance of light rain after noon. Track temps should be down so the grip should be high.

Okay, noob question. Why do they pull towards the inside on the front stretch and back stretch?

edit: Taku is Racing for RLL? I'll take that. Go Taku.

Breaking the draft. The cars naturally swing out from the corners.
That's what I assumed, but if they're all doing it, it doesn't break the draft. Is it to avoid side draft off the wall?

Rossi venting all over Palou and the track... pitted, caught fire, pit crew seemed to be on fire for even longer?

The air pressure from running near the wall slows the car on the straights.

Cheatin Joe will be in the top 5 after this pit stop vs these knuckleheads.
That's the sad thing. If he wins, it won't matter how he does it. It will be seen as tainted.
