Flashback! Shedden wins again in BTCC. Yes it was a lucky reverse grid pole, but he looked always in control holding off the challengers behind in tricky conditions.

Ingram and Sutton continue to be superior to the rest of the field and look set to battle for the title all the way to the end, although Tom's old nemesis appeared to almost get him in the third race. Not sure why he has so slow in the slippery conditions as his teammates were fine, and he did recover well once it started to dry up, but it could cost him as it did at Brands last year.

Also happy retirement to Steve Rider. He's been a mainstay of UK sports coverage my whole life.

So good to watch full races on YouTube now. The cars sound so good and I gotta repeat all the liveries look vibrant and professional.
It'll be interesting they add small SUVs like the CX-3, Puma, etc. Wouldn't water down the BTCC excitement one bit. It is the best compact touring car racing it has always been.

It’s a pretty good bet that we’ll get an SUV in the next few years, to replace the Focus/Civic/Astra hatchbacks. If I remember right a team wanted to run a Range Rover in the past, but got dissuaded by the manufacturer as it didn’t mesh with their marketing strategy.

Also, perhaps some explanation of how Ingram was half a second clear of the field in qualifying:

I remember that, it was Thorney Motorsport, would have been interesting.

Max Hall has left Unlimited Motorsport, won't return after the summer break for the remainder of the BTCC season.

Some clarification by TOCA on some pretty significant changes for the next era of NGTC. Engine requirements will be opened up, so now any car can run a BTCC homologated engine, irrespective of which manufacturer it comes from.

Also TOCA have lifted the UK specific requirement for a cars homologation. So basically any car can be used from a manufacturers lineup, as long as it's ICE and confirms to the existing size and dimension limits.

One Motorsport will miss (at least) the next 2 race meetings of the championship. Health problems for the team owner, sounds like that is causing financial issues for his companies and subsequently the team.

Not good news at all, and given the financial state ONE have been in with them sitting out last year, and very few sponsors on the cars this year, I really hope it isn't a bad omen for them.

Stephen Jelley switching to Un-Limited for the rest of the season, sadly likely to mean One are done (again). Hopefully Cook can find a drive as well, speculation in Autosport that he has a seat from Knockhill onward.

No Jake Hill for the Croft rounds. Ear infection. Turkington drove the car in practice but is not racing.
