I hate VSC. It is pure faikery. This is the last WEC race I watch and by extension the last motor race I watch

I'm still a bit hesitant, but it seems interesting.
Seems like a great landing space for a lot of the cast out or re-done cars. Vanwall has shown interest but nothing confirmed yet as well as Isotta and JDC Miller Porsche. Hopefully with Peugeot's news that will get the ball rolling with other manufacturers. Would be great to see Glickenhaus and Lamborghini make a comeback here too.

As one can imagine, both Dani and Augusto (courtesy of the WEC subreddit) are giving calm, measured responses when replying to questions on social media...

Edit: Personally, I think stuff like this is hilarious (in doses), and really helps gives the series some small bits of personality.

So, of course, the FIA does what comes naturally to them: attempt take the fun and personality out of the equation by fining Dani 5,000 Euros for the bird.

35-Car Field Locked In For 2026 WEC Season

Porsche has opted to scale back its factory prototype effort to IMSA GTP only, while Proton was unable to find a solution to field a second 963 to meet the two-car mandate.

Both Porsche and Proton will still be represented in the LMGT3 field, though. Manthey returns with the German manufacturer with a pair of 911 GT3 R Evos, and Proton will continue to compete with Ford Racing, operating two Mustang LMGT3 Evos.

Iron Dames is also missing, following the team’s decision to scale back its sporting effort next year.

Elsewhere, TF Sport’s second Corvette will race under the Racing Team Turkey banner following Salih Yoluc’s return to full-time competition in WEC with the team. Of note, too, the list confirms that Corvette factory drivers Nicky Catsburg and Charlie Eastwood will compete with the team.

It appears that WRT will compete without Valentino Rossi as neither car is entered as #46. This change is one of many in the LMGT3 driver ranks. The number of seats available is reducing rapidly as we head towards the new year, following a flurry of driver reveals from several teams over the past 24 hours.

Interestingly, while neither name was announced, Manthey’s two Porsches being bannered as ‘Manthey DK Engineering’ and ‘The Bend Manthey’ suggests that James Cottingham and Yasser Shahin will be joining the team alongside confirmed drivers Richard Lietz and Ayhancan Güven

It is gutting that there's not a single Porsche 963 on the WEC grid next season - it seems like an odd decision given that interest in WEC has probably never been higher.

Still, I'll be renewing my FIA WEC app subscription - very good value for money!

Happy to see the old RC Fs still going for at least one more year before the GR turns up.

They couldn't get Ferrari level bop so they took their ball away. I've subbed to the FIA WEC since it started but I have my doubts about renewing my sub.

Micahel Ried said that Proton Competition tried to struck a deal with ACO (and Porsche Penske) to run a 963 each but the ACO insisted that either Proton or Penske run two cars and act as a manufacturer team...

This
And further convergence of LMH and LMDh in 2028, but Peugeot doesn't like this idea/sees their investment in the 9x8 successor for 2027 threatened by these rule changes.

In Peugeots case they could always lean on the Asian Le Mans series. They already have their previous wingless versions starting there in 2027
