Well, congrats to Ferrari, I guess. Bop'd to the win. And huge round of applause for Porsche for being able to bring the fight to the Ferrari's. Almost flawless run sans victory. Estre is a BEAST!

Shame about the Caddies and the Beemers. Better luck next time. Hopefully.

Congratulations for Inter Europol for taking the top podium in LMP2.

And last but not Least, Manthey Racing for winning GT3LM.

Thank you all you fellow forum dwellers for keeping company these 24 hours. I'm off now but I'll be joining you next weekend for the Nürburgring 24h.

Until then, cheers!

My mum was born to Polish parents. I never met her dad but I did see her mum many times so my link to Poland is very personal. I was devastated when Robert Kubica had his crash in a rally car. I thought his career was over. No chance to win an F1 championship, let alone another race. Then he started getting back behind the wheel. Making his way back to F1 was inspiring despite the poor results in a crap Williams outfit. When Ferrari announced Kubica as one of their hypercar drivers, I knew he would have another chance to show his talents to the world. Now he’s a Le Mans winner. That’s what I call validation.

Great Race! Now when do we get the Ferrari 499P in Gran Turismo?
Seriously, as someone who really enjoys making replica liveries it‘s very annoying to see all these cool WEC and IMSA liveries and not being able to recreate them in the game. And next year GT7‘s entire GT3 lineup will be outdated when the AMG GT3 and Huracan GT3 get replaced by the newer cars.

Would be nice to get in Forza Motorsport too and with the relationship they have with Ferrari and all the hypercars they have added so far, why not. Plus the damn car has over 1200 votes to be in game which is surely to skyrocket after this race.

this one doesn't want to get old...

If I didn't know any better or I was (am) a conspiracy theorist I would say the FIA is helping Ferrari to make up for their F1 showing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. J/K but it interesting dichotomy with the 2 racing disciplines

I'm so happy that Kubica won!
And in basically the same day as the Canadian GP (timezone dependant I guess), that's just poetic.

This day and age a separate stream for just LMP2 and GT3 category would definitely be possible.

Would definitely be an interesting choice having a stream that showed the other part of the race that you rarely see.
Good idea. Should be an easy thing to do.

I don't think Ferrari and BOP are to blame for the Porsche #6 failing inspection and as a result being disqualified after the first round of qualifying and then being punished by having to start at 21st place on the grid. Going by their performance, they could have won outright quite easily if they hadn't ruined it for themselves. And the #5 Porsche started on the grid ahead of the Ferrari's as well and fell back due to their own doing. The #6 created its own mountain to climb and it proved a little too steep for it at the end.

I have to disagree here. When the Safety Car period started, the Porsche #6 was leading the race, it was also in front at the restart. Let say they made the pole position and were in the lead before the SC procedure, they would have been in the exact same position.

The SC is the problem. Ferrari made mistakes, the SC erased them. @Tired Tyres said it well, the integrity of the race was compromised.

This was probably the best day for polish motorsport ever with Kubica winning overall and Inter Europol claiming win in LMP2! After following Robert's career for the better part of my life through it's incredible highs and lows I am just incredibly happy for him.

But Toyota gained 2nd place over Ferrari at that point and didn't make use of it. It only seems a matter of contention whenever Ferrari wins and BOP is used as an excuse that it is somehow giving them an unfair advantage. At the end, Ferrari were just a lot smarter with their strategies and probably have a overall superior car which cannot be quantified by BOP or for whatever reason. It's no coincidence they have won all 4 races this season so far and Le Mans 3 years in a row now. Audi, Toyota and Porsche were winning consistently in a lot more one sided eras and yet people had less problem with it then. A case of sour grapes.

Top speeds for the hypercars are rather interesting

Things I find interesting

  • Ferrari factory cars way ahead of everyone
  • Ferrari #83 3kph slower than the factory cars
  • Peugeot #94 had a very high top speed but a very middling average top speed
  • The wide spread of speed across the different Porsches
  • Toyota very low top speed

Difference between peak speeds for the 50 and the 101 is 5mph. You can barely feel 5mph more on the streets/highways but over 24h it's a pretty wide gap as it turns out.

I thought Kubica's car was a Cadillac when I casually checked in on the race.

Wow just saw the results Ferrari 3 years in a role.

I'm calling it now unless Ferrari pulls out for next season it'll be 4 years in a role.

PD Needs to add this historic car 499p to GT7 please.\

Edit -

And Toyota continues there streak of not being able to win this race when they have competition they should be proud.

I felt bad for the american caddies & the peugeots (I wanted their concept to work ._.)
Why is the Mustang so comically large?
It's curvy :D
So ACO/FIA decided to hand the victory to Ferrari, again, by giving them a favourable bop?
AF Corse is the only team running three hypercars full season in the WEC, Porsche Penske for example only run three cars in Le Mans; Af Corse has a lot more data & drivers input to work with and optimize their cars and strategy.
I make it about 386 laps.
Hello :D

In the race the tops speeds were over 360 Km/h, but the speed in the graphics make more sense as the cameras during the race always cut away when the hypercars reached about 330 Km/h and accelerated less and less
