Its pretty insane, the level of cheating that went on was just truly staggering. It was so brazen and they are still claiming their innocence even now. This has to be one of the biggest sporting scandals of all time, let alone in Football.

They have until Friday to appeal and its highly likely that they will, if they lose that appeal then they can take it to the High Court in London, but if they lose that appeal then that's it. Like I mentioned before I doubt that we will hear any sanctions this season, I know that the PL are due to meet to discuss those sanctions though. As for what sort of sanctions they will get....who knows, I don't think this has happened before on this scale, so we are in new territory here.

Cheating Bastards!

In lighter news, Ronaldo throwing a strop and going home because he was benched at 41 is incredibly funny.

The man is so successful but exceptionally thin-skinned.

Nothing says innocence like saying, "Nice economy you got there, it'd be a shame if we pull our investments."

Just exile the Rapid City Forces to the UAE top flight already.

Trying to be partners with them is looking similar to someone trying to make an abusive relationship work. They will use everything they can leverage to ensure you give in and let them get their way.

Nationalised clubs spell the end of national teams. Especially given that these oil vultures come from places with crap teams, they fundamentally replace them.

The Emirates don't need an Emirati national team; Man City is their new national team.
Qatar doesn't need a Qatari national team; PSG is their new national team.
Saudi Arabia doesn't need a Saudi national team; Newcastle United is their new national team.

That last one might not seem as strong now but if left unchecked, just you watch.

It's important also to see how the argument has shifted since the UEFA case City escaped on through a technicality where they were adamant none of the sponsorship money was being funded by the government, but now the defence is that it was. They've created arguments in both cases, after the fact, to address specific accusations, regardless of if that defence is consistent with a previous statements.

There should be a complete ban on state ownership and ownership that is heavily tied to a state IMO.

Interesting timeline, in 2010 Sheikh Mansour claimed none of the money coming into the club originated from the state, it was all associated sponsors own funds.

In 2015, Etihad told the US government that they received no state funding.

Now City are claiming it's all ok, because the funds came from the state, not the owners.

This is either bad for City, bad for Etihad, or bad for both. If Etihad do turn out to be state funded, then their operations in the US and EU could be at risk.

It's almost as it their arguments are "concocted after the event".

6,000 school children in Rijeka:

Lets be honest, it was a farce that it was supposed to be behind closed doors but the attendance was over 6,200. They gave tickets away to under 14's, a few hundred England fans were there too.

As for on the pitch, England thrashed them 7-0, school boy defending in front of a school boy crowd.

Also worth noting that Scotland beat North Macedonia 2-0 away, Wales beat Norway 2-1, and Northern Ireland shoed Ukraine 3-0 away all in this one round of whatever this competition is, making it a clean sweep for the Home Nations against a few potentially tricky opponents - and only one goal conceded!

Just need RoI to do a double (after already beating Sunday's opponents 3-0 away last week) to get the full British Isles set. Doesn't happen often.
