Alex Bowman will be returning to Hendrick for 2027. However, he will not be there in 2028 as he plans to retire following the end of next season.

On one hand, Zilly definitely needs to get out of Trackhouse; that team is being carried by SVG at the moment and even SVG can do better than TH.

On the other hand, holy hell in a handbasket is Zilly doing poorly. In 22 races, he has less points than Kyle Busch :indiff: not only that, but the 23XI 67 is higher in Owner's Points than the 88 :( I know he's a rookie and all and it's unrealistic that he put up fantastic numbers out the gate (I expected 2023 Ty Gibbs performance, maybe less due to the equipment differences), but he quite literally cannot stop finished P30th+. At a certain point, I think it stops being bad luck and just being...bad.

It feels like he just has a terribly timed Rookie season as Trackhouse has definately gone down in quality, which makes SVG's success look that much more herculean (and impressive that he's figuring it out at a very quick rate, while his team somehow isn't).

Granted Hendrick themselves have kinda fallen off a cliff and of course the bad news just keeps coming for RCR so maybe 2026 was just not the year to be on Chevy squad period apart from Spire it seems.

As pointed out of course, he is in a rookie season so not alot should be expected out of year 1 (Probably because the possibility of seasons like this were outside the rare Shanes of the world, the equipment isn't there) so this can kinda be written off.

They changed the car design this past year and I'm not sure if its the aero or its something else, but for everyone to miss, it points to that. Sadly, Ford also has fallen off a cliff due to terrible luck.

In Cup, NASCAR has moved the Clash from Bowman Gray Stadium to Daytona. It has moved the All-Star race from Dover to North Wilkesboro, with Dover now having a points race (and North Wilkesboro not having one).

In O'Reilly, Rockingham is off the schedule, as is one of the Atlanta races. North Wilkesboro and Richmond have been added.

In trucks, four races came off the schedule — Rockingham, Naval Base Coronado, Dover and Richmond. Replacing those races are Bowman Gray, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport), Pocono and a second race at Kansas.

No Mexico City, no Chicago Street Course, Rockingham completely off the calendar, Mosport is back.

The Bristol race is no longer final 10 race.

Honestly pretty sad for SVG this race. He was running well all things considered, and I was kinda hoping that he would be able to brute-force his way into The Chase, despite the lackluster year Trackhouse has had so far.

Still, happy for Preece. Dude's had 2 of the worst accidents in recent memory that I can think of, both at Daytona, so it's both well-deserved and very appropriate for him to get his first win in Cup here.

Meanwhile, NASCAR socials is out here giving Bubba serial killer vibes. :lol:

I'm more offended that Carvana got the primary sponsorship instead of Lowe's, personally. Feels more like if they had taken the Castrol livery and replaced Castrol with a sports betting site or something. One of the key things that makes a livery iconic is the title sponsor it's designed around, changing that ruins the whole vibe.

Lowe's hasn't sponsored anything motorsports related in at least 7 years. Doesn't surprise me.

That's fine with me, Castrol's been on about a million different cars, it's iconic on just about everything. I just feel like it's wrong to see Jimmie Johnson in anything else than a Chevy, because that's all he ever drove in his prime.

The team he owns runs Toyota. He's been running Toyotas for the past few years. He's most likely not going to be competitive in the 500 as it is.
