I don‘t want to read too much into this but could this be hinting at Fernando Alonso returning to WEC?!

I mean there have been rumors for quite some time now, especially considering his contract with Aston Martin will expire at the end of the year.
 
I mean, I doubt much more will come from Aston Martin in F1 in the short term. He'd be better off trying somewhere there's at least a chance of being competitive.

That said, Philippe Sinault didn't look thrilled about broaching the subject in the COTA paddock and declined to comment. I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but I’d remain cautious..

No surprise there. Alpine has really been a force since late last season, it really sucks to see them possibly go. Hopefully the Chinese manufacturer can keep this car afloat because it would be interesting to see if this car can really be an upset to Toyota and Ferraris reign going into next season and maybe beyond. BMW is becoming another one.
