I just got back from work today and I turned on my ps3 just out of interest, to check where all the cars were placing in the race. So I open up the list and to my surprise I see the results as this.

RESULTS AFTER 22 HOURS
1.X2010 (My Bob)
2.Pescarlo C60 Hybride
3.Audi R10 TDI
4.AMG Mercedes CLK Race car
5.BMW v12 LMR Race Car
6.Nissan R390 GT1 Race Car
7. Bentley Speed 8 Race Car
8.Pescarlo Courage C60
9.Toyota GT-ONE Race Car
10. BMW Mclaren F1 GTR Race Car
11.Dodge Viper GTS-R
12.Viper GTS-R

After being absolutely dumbfounded about the results. I notice that on the R10TDI he is indicate to pit on this lap, despite having brand new tyres and a full tank of gas. I watch him pit, assuming he will swap to inters or racing rain, but instead, he swaps straight back onto RM :indiff:! Surely enough I then notice nearly 3 quarters of the field all have there pit indicators on!

So basically what is happening. The driver pits and swaps drive. Filling the car up and swapping to a new set of racing mediums. He then proceeds to leave the pits, and when he gets roughly halfway down the back straight. The pit indicator turns on. The driver then pits and this cycle continues. Yet oddly enough my X2010 the Mclaren and the two vipers appear to be somehow unaffected.

My theory is that the drivers have been trapped in some kind of loop due to the weather conditions. The rain makes the driver want to swap out for rain tyres. Yet for some reason or another in the pits, this doesn't happen.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? Or have any theories or ideas of your own?:)

I've faced the same problem. Only it affected me directly. While I was running a European Championship in B-Spec my driver always wanted to pit after a pit stop for no reason. I had to cancel the useless pit stop every single lap.

I had the similar problem too. But it's on the arcade mode. Using Minolta.
The track (Circuit de le Sarthe) is damp, i went to pit change to rain tyre but the AI did the opposite.
All i can watch, they're drifting around the corner.
Easy win.

AI pits when their driver's strength fall to certain level. They do this all the time despite the next driver they swap in is fully recovered or not. So what happens in a 24H race is all their three driver used out strength and then they just pit every single lap.

Whenever I do LMP races online or offline the R10 is always near the back. It's very underpowered compared to the others.

Yes. The AI strength diminishes late into the race. They do not stay out long enough to let the other two drivers rest enough to maintain a good strength level. My pit strength setting is always set to off so that my drivers only pit when fuel or tyres are required. This gives each of my drivers long rest periods and better strength right to the end of the race.

I'm 10 hours in right now and the same here... I think this is about the strength! Only these cars where the strength is down are pitting every lap! It would be the same with our bobs, if we would set pit strategy to 10-20 % strength!

That makes more sense then my idea haha. I still don't understand how they can get away with racing tyres in the rain though.

Well I don't have rain in my 24h race (yet?)... but as long as the track is dry enough on the ideal line, they stick to racing tyres! Same here for your bobs, don't mess with them, just let him choose what ever tyre he wants or he will pit next lap again...

i had Bob complete the race just fine in my 795hp FGT, but during the rain portion, i did notice the drivers were pittting more often. Also i still have the original version ( cant upgrade my version being deployed), i wonder if the one lap problem is an update problem, any guesses? I'd like to know

I've done the 24hrs of Le Mans in B-spec 15 times or so and it is definitely driver fatigue that causes them to pit every lap. The R10 is successful many times because its speed is slower so it causes less driver fatigue and/or more time for its Bobs to rest while they're waiting for their turn to drive.

If there's a long period of rain, things will start to come back to normal because the slower lap times will help with the fatigue.

How many times have you seen the R10 Tdi in thrid?

LOL. You beat me to it. First thing that jumped out at me when I saw that list. Must be a typo:sly:

This happens on a lot of tracks that have weather changes. Seen this on the Ring, Monza, La Sarthe and Suzuka. Ive even had my Bob stuck in that loop which was a pain to have to sit there and remember to hit the unpit selection not too far from the pits. If you hit it too far it reactivates sometimes. Another bug thats been there since release date. Hope they fix it.

No idea why there's a Dodge Viper on the grid...

In real life Le Mans there are several classes that run on the same track at the same time. The Dodge Viper GTSR and Corvette C5R/C6R were some of them back in 99-08. They dominated there class and won. They where the next fastest class of car under the LMP's back then. In the GT1 class which later became GT2 if memory serves. And of course GT3 where the Porsches dominated back then. That class of cars have no chance of winning overall unless the LMP's break or have bad days. Which actually happened in 24 hours of Daytona where the Viper GTSR won overall. The Corvettes did the same thing a few years later. In GT5 they have no chance since the LMP's aint gonna break.

So to summerize, they belong on the grid but unfortunately GT5 doesnt hand out awards for the different class winners like real life Le Mans. Would be great if it could represent more than a 12 car grid and have the different classes represented.

I've done that race several times and noticed the R10 in second, and in maybe one other race the CLK close to the top.

Looking at the race, I noticed the more powerful R8s and the C60 Hybride pitting more often, I'm guessing, because the drivers were getting tired sooner. Perhaps the AI takes better care of its drivers than I do.

yeah i just noticed this to i am curently doing a 24 hour le mans b spec yall got it figuerd out its driver stregnth but its very disconcerning to wacht i am shure pd will fix this ocne they become aware of it but if your using the x2010 their is no point in fixing this cus the other cars dont have a chance anyways

What kind of a disability do you have?

My bobs have driven 24H Le Mans twice and the Audi R10 have been in 2nd place after my X1 both times.
Most of the cars pit every lap because there strength is lower than 10%, they have pit strategi on. But some of the cars drivers have more than 10% so they not pit every lap, but they have also pit strategi on.

Well the R10 is basically never higher then 7th and the clk is usually about 8th.

It finished 2nd on my A-Spec run, 19 laps behind my 908 HDI FAP #1 Team Total. Yes, 19 laps - I drove 24 hours and didn't stop when I knew they couldn't catch me.

Be afraid, be very afraid.

This happened to me on the second race on b spec dream car championship. It was like they were driving on ice. Forst what happened was I put rain tyres on but the bots didn't.the bots pitted after finishing first lap to change to rain tyres. 6 laps through the race, my bob and the bots went into the pit to change to racing hard. And it stayed like that all the way through the race

I had a similar problem where I started the race without rain tires when it was raining. I had Bob pit and switch, but each lap after that he kept deciding to pit halfway through Le Mans.
