Just one question:

How exactly do you plan on making the race full 24 hours?

- Do it in "Practice mode" which means you can't investigate accidents, can't know exactly how many laps people actually completed etc.

- Or will you do it in race mode, but be limited by the 200 lap max?

The OP isn't clear about this :)

Also, just in case I decide to compete, what does AEST convert to GMT-wise? Or better yet, if today was raceday, how long would it be to race start?

+ i think AEST is +10-11 GMT?

good point tbh, well i guess ill split it into as many laps as i can get in, then make up the rest after that, ill have a look and make edits accordingly

200 laps, averaging 6 min laps makes it 20 hours, so really wether its fit into one race or not depends on the weather

You're welcome, I just thought I wanted to make you aware that if you want to do a 24 hour race with the 200 lap max. the average lap time must be more than 7.something minutes, hence why it's only worked for Nürburgring so far. See the edit in my previous post (regarding start time as I checked back and it may be a good weekend for me)?

thanks for the info, well i run 3:54's on dry conditions and 4:37's in wet, so im not sure, wether i run like a 18 hour race now or something? or a 6 hour sprint race awarding points at the end of it for leaders and then a 18 hour race

Further race info to come in the next few days :) get tuning guys, 3 months till its on

I'll take the RX-7 TC, No. 70 not sure what colour.

There has been a full 24hr race done here on GT Planet. They made it really complex though, you needed a team with a few drivers and a team manager all to be in the same house swapping the driving role. The Team managers would have an open connection on a PC (so router and good net needed) to allow them to communicate.

But importantly the room did stay open for the full 24 hours.

I will look for the thread and edit in the link

yeah, i missed out on wurks's event, ill probs have to run la sarthe in 200 laps, then a final kind of sprint race

Doing quick maths, you could fit 2 x 200 laps in 24hr.

Depending on the cars used - LMPs would finish both 200 lappers inside of 24hr, the finish for the cars you're using should just be in the end of the 2nd race. Perhaps do that and find a way to have the finish from the first 200 lapper be the grid for the second. Have some way to set time and laps down on leader, to have the cars set off on the 2nd 200 lapper.

Just running with the idea here . . . a nominated official could join the room as the first race nears the end. He then uses "Watch race" mode to get a solid read of where the various cars are on the track. Which ones are down a few laps, but importantly where they are on the track, not just a basic figure like '2 laps down'.

This official then controls the grid for the start of the 2nd race giving cars their flag to start. The game starts the race, leader can then drive off and start at full race pace. The others go to a controlled area and park up to wait for their 'green flag'.

I think something like that could work . . just a suggestion.

I was interested in wurks.ca until I found out you had to pay for it :(.
