I'm looking for some assistance. In the coming weeks I will be embarking on a challenge to complete both 24hr endurance races at sartha & the ring. I am looking for a car that will win both races, but at the same time, won't kill the competition.

I also intend to do each race in one sitting :

Use one of the cars in the typical opponents list with a mod or two for a more definite win

Doing these races in one sitting really isn't healthy, at the very least you need to get up and take an hours break and do some physical movement every so often or you could encounter serious medical risk.

With that said, just about any of the Group C/LMP cars are perfectly capable of winning over the AI because they are quite slow for the most part, personally I would use either the Mazda 787b or the Jaguar XJR-12. Once you've picked a car though I would suggest starting the race once or twice and observing the lap times set by the AI as well as how long they go between pit stops (probably easier done watching an hour or two of the B-Spec race actually) and then tune/de-tune your car until you can comfortably run lap times within a certain margin of the AI, thus allowing you to tailor the race to be as close as you'd like.

Just don't use a super-fast car like de redbull x, you should use a car that you can handle well for a long time.

Try using the Audi R10 stock with oil change that will give you a nice close race on both events.

I just don't wont to win by so many laps. I want a race where it's going to be close & come down to the final lap or so

HI all,
1st Post! Long time lurker. I have been doing the Nurburgring 24hr using the Nissan GT-R TC fully tuned and run in.
The 1st 12 hrs were raining so I managed to get a lead of 10 laps using Intermediate tyres. The 4x4 really helps in the wet!
Anyways it's been dry now for about 6hrs and it's really close betweeen me and the Bentley Speed 12 which is in second. Since it's stopped raining i'm only just able to keep pulling ahead. If i have a bad lap then he will catch me up.

Hope that helps!

All I can say is good luck, never bothered to try of 2 reasons:

1: These Races seems to be more for personal experience rather than anything in the game (maybe the level xp)
2: Even when I run cars on level with the AI, there's no challenge, which makes it really boring. And yes, I did try running a slower car but the same again

Im currently using the Peugeot 908 HDI... I tried a couple of different cars but felt comfy with this one. I made sure i had every tyre possible, if i felt i was getting too fast I could change to a slower tyre etc. Problem is that it started raining after the 2nd hour and still hasnt stopped!!!! Gutted i missed the sunset / sunrise.....

Oh and the AI will vary in speed... the JUDD 05' is the fastest bay FAR, leaving the Bentley for dust. Its the only car im racing at the mo!!

I am currently 13 hours in the race at the ring. I am also using the GT-R TC. So far its taken me 4 days to get this far, lol. Like an above poster, it also rained for the first 12 hours for me so I was able to get a 10 lap lead. Not bothered about how close the race is, just want to win as its my last trophy I need for platninum.

Well, for a fun close race use a gt500 class car. Or if you are confident in your driving skills, use a tuned road car like a gtr or a viper or an Enzo. Also, don't do it in one sitting. drive in 4 hour stints, then take an hour or so break. Or you could also get a friend or two and take turns

Better take some Aspirin to prevent blood clots !

I have a feeling that you'll come back here, saying you fell asleep at the wheel and lost.
