24hrs of Le Mans Club

I am a fan of the 24 Heures du Mans and I would like to join the club please Earth!

As a member of Club de 24 Heures du Mans and with the big race now about 1 week away, I hereby request this club convene and come to order!

And if it's OK with the club leader, I created a social group dedicated to the same purpose.

My goal for this year, as it has been for the last couple of years is to make it through the entire 24 hours without sleeping.

Last year I made it to about hour 20, which is like 6 am here. One major problem I have is not taking enough sleep the night before because I'm too excited for the race the following mourning.

This year I will be recording all of the race in HD. I will try and upload it to youtube if my computer can handle the video editing

However if I fail gamer 901 will upload it to youtube, I'm sure. He uploaded the entire 2008 race to youtube

I am routing for the Peugeot of Sarrazin/Montagny/Bourdais

The R15 may be fast, but remember the Peugoet had the fastest race lap at Sebring, and the Peugeot's coupe body was built for the long straights of Le Mans, and not Sebring. I even heard Peugeot didn't bring their best cars to Sebring.

I'm going out on a limb and calling a 1-2-3 qualifying lineup for Peugoet again

I don't know, Peugeot has made some very questionable strategy calls even when they had the best car.

Yes, not having Henri Pescarolo run the factory Peugeot team was a mistake

They were so over confident last year and it bit them.

I think the Peugeots will be quickest, but I expect them to throw it away again allowing one of the R15s to win

The Astons are a wildcard but with 6 factory diesels in the race i think thats too much to overcome

And what do you think will happen in the other classes?

The other classes aren't too interesting to me this year, GT1 is Corvette vs a bunch of nobodies, LMP2 is which Porsche doesn't break down, and GT2, I don't know. I would like to see Risi Racing Ferrari F430 get the win. Wonder if they still have to change the brake pads half way through the race again.

What are your guy's picks?
 
Hey guys, thought I'd bump the thread here with a question for you.

Have any of you taken part in any recent online races the emulated the 24 Hours of Le Mans? I remember a group from Race Department did a 12 hours of Le Mans race the week before the actual 24 last month.

Also, what did you think this years Le Mans race? Not quite a classic but the surprise win by Audi with all the Peugeots flaming out - literally- is one thing that sticks out in my mind.
 
Are we going to start the club up again since GT5 is out or is it going to be left to die??? I personally am at lvl 32 A spec in GT5 and trying to grind to the 24hr le man. But if no one cares for this forum any more then should I delete it? Personally, I want to make it run again and get more interest.
 
I started a small GTP Le Mans earleir that suddenly had 15 entrants in 30 minutes... I'll help set it up if you want, and If my schedule allows it. Count me in.
