i really do like this game still, but maybe i am just a loyal fan. i have played every installment its boring as hell now after around level 25. yes, i know, i could stop playing it. but i have never felt a gran turismo like this before, it is so empty and barren. i just did 2 endurance races and i got crap for a reward and hardly no money? wtf? i remember in gt4 you get a 787b for winning a race. anyone else feel dead stopped like me? also, i thought that online play would save the game, but i was wrong. i have spent about 10 hours online now and it's annoying and slow to start matches. most of the time you just get idiots who put their max hp as the limit to win the races. i wish there was a better online system to make it more enjoyable and interactive. a minor discrepency that annoys me is you cannot tune your car while the track is loading. it would be cool if you can join races as a team. i wouldn't call this a rant, but im uncertain if i will continue to play this game because the online play doesn't seem complete and i'm defiantly done with gt life. anyone?

I hear ya dude. I'll still play it and so will you probably! Just hope PD will listen and fix some stuff in updates and whatever.

Hope they make all the cars premium coz it's horrible racing against them, some of them look really horrible when you are close up to them, like that blue Nissan le man car, really bad.

yeah. but to be honest im not so much worried about premium cars, but more about the overall mechanics. we'll see what happens when they update the game. if they only care about cosmetics then we are in trouble.

Bit of updates on both would be nice. I doubt they will not update it.

Edit; Just heard there's gonna be a mojot update on 20th december.

Time Trials with leaderboards will help when it is added. I got bored with GT5P too but never got bored of Time Trials, I think when online is fully implemented I'll spend most my time there.

I sort of gave up on getting further in the game. I'm at level 22 now and I did pretty much every event I could up to that level except: historic car championship because you need a ridiculously good car to beat it which is incredibly hard to find (Im not wasting my time trying to beat it with a countach, I cant stand a challenge in GT5, because when it is, its not even a fun challenge. Its a complete pain in the ass.) and the Nascar series, which is also damn near impossible and I refuse to waste time on it.

I basically just do the Like the wind Indy track race over and over for easy money and use that money to buy random cars. I have just been buying random cars, completely modifying them, and taking them on random tracks in practice mode. MUCH more fun than struggling with a hard race.

Im not going to bother trying to beat the game until PD maybe updates the game so you can actually BEAT some of these races without having to save $2 million for one car that rarely shows up in the used car lot. Or until they add more events so leveling up doesnt involve repeating the same races over and over.

I'm 25/25 right now and other than one A-Spec race, all I have left is the endurances. I'm going to finish up Formula GT tomorrow and them most likely do no more A-Spec for awhile because the endurances aren't as fun in GT5 as they were in GT4. I love B-Spec now at the higher levels because you can just outpower the AI and there's no penalty.

I'm 28/32 and the only part of the game that I've stopped playing is the Endurance Races in A-spec. Why? I'm not gonna repeat Indy 500, Suzuka 1000km over and over again just to do the next one. I would prefer an unlock model, for example: get 1st in Grand Valley 300km grant you access to Laguna Seca, etc. I'm not playing endurance race until they fix the XP system.

I'm only to level 14 and I'm not looking forward to playing GT5 like I did GT4. Part of it is the expectations and the delay. Anything less than perfection is a let down. I don't like the format and would have rather seen the same setup of the races, countries and tuning like gt4. I enjoyed going to the "factory" to tune the cars and I feel they should have stayed with that.

Don't advertise 1000 cars then say there's only 200 "premium. I saw where they rendered the back seats etc in the premium cars. When do you ever look at the door panels and back seats anyway when you are racing. I think they bit off more than they should have and couldn't finish it. How much processing is being taken up by stuff you don't see on the interiors? and why is there such a short selection of wheels etc.

Between the jagged shaddows, the bad looking std. cars and the sounds that on some cars still don't cut it, I feel they should have continued to hone the key parts of what made GT4 so good. Maybe GT6 will put all the pieces together. But I'm bummed. This is one case where over committed and under-delivered.

the best thing to do to get to the next levels in aspec is find a race that ain't that boring and do that heaps like i do with the european championship it nets me 86k in credits so i can acculmate my garage but i only havto spend 6 mins in race not 2 hours to only get 145k credits just a thought im level 25 aspec trying to get 26 i have 365 cars thanks to this techinque

That's not really an option for A spec levelling up once you get to lvl 27 as the number of times you'd need to run an event other than an enduro would be too high.

I got to lvl 30 B spec to unlock the X1 challenge... and getting bronzes in those took me from A spec lvl 27 to 30. To et higher than 30 will mean runnning a lot of enduros... which becomes more of a test of patience and dedication that anything else.

and the Nascar series, which is also damn near impossible and I refuse to waste time on it.
Really? Have you won the Nascar by golding Jeff Gordon's Nascar Challenge?

That event was a cake walk with the Nascar. Your Nascar will drive like it has more horsepower than all the others.

I was playing tonight looking at the limited races and happened to think, what if something was added in either the practice section or a new race category, where we could select the track and then pick a race class to compete in. Say, Super GT, LeMans level 1 or 2 cars, even NASCAR or Spec MX-5s. I doubt we'd ever feel like we were grinding, really. I don't think this would be that difficult to add and would vastly expand the game.

Of course, as I was thinking this, the game glitched and froze right before the straight on the last lap.

Yeah, I understand what you mean, when I started to unlock the races I was like "wow! this is fast" - I too feel that we need more races also.

also, i thought that online play would save the game, but i was wrong. i have spent about 10 hours online now and it's annoying and slow to start matches. most of the time you just get idiots who put their max hp as the limit to win the races. i wish there was a better online system to make it more enjoyable and interactive. a minor discrepency that annoys me is you cannot tune your car while the track is loading. it would be cool if you can join races as a team. i wouldn't call this a rant, but im uncertain if i will continue to play this game because the online play doesn't seem complete and i'm defiantly done with gt life. anyone?

I agree with the online rant. I bought this game thinking the online would prolong its life and that it'll be exciting to race against others. But I just can't get a game online because of the way you have to join a room blind (not knowing what restrictions/parameters) and takes a long while between loading screens. I find it hard to join organized competitions here because they're full of pretend race car drivers with a bazillion restrictions.

There's no middle ground between too many restrictions and too few. Its a shame.

Do b-spec and photo travel if you're bored.

Well, I'm up to 28 on B-Spec (I really liked it) but I'm having to grind now, so I think I'm about done with that. Only thing the grinding would open is the last 3 super long endurance races, and as you said the rewards are paltry.
I'm at 15 on A-Spec and will be returning to it. I decided to do B-Spec first so that I would have the level requirement and a nice bank roll for buying any car I wanted for A-Spec. But I definitely see it reaching the same end as B-Spec, as I have zero interest in playing a computer race for 9 or 24 hours!
I was thinking about this the other day: By the time PD starts putting out these updates to the game, half of the people who bought it on day one will be done with the game and moved on to something else.
That's what I miss about consoles before they had Internet connections, the developers did a lot more testing to make sure the game was actually ready to ship.
It seems like nowadays, they get to 80% or so and say, "Ah, let's just sent it out there and get our money now. We can promise them updates and work on them at our leisure."

I'm doing what I've always done. Collect cars, mod them, hotlap them. The rest of the time, Bob earns some money. Don't understand all that bitching. Name one console racer that drives like GT5. And isn't that what it's all about? Anyway, having a blast and will keep on doing so for a long time.

To be honest any one who buys arcing games like this for the actual game is wasting there money racing games like this get most of there life from on-line play in racing leagues etc etc.

I don't mind what they do with the game as long as online play keeps improving.

Agreed with the online component. The number one biggest thing I wanted with GT5 was a diverse online component - but it is alot worse than prologue (which is hard to believe). I mean, not even leaderboards, or events that grant money/xp. I've gotten to the point in my A-Spec career that I don't feel like racing the computer anymore, so if I want to play four hours online, I would like something to show for my effort.

A-spec 26 B-Spec 31, kinda talk for himself lol, I usually do online racing then B-spec endurance.
Gonna take some times to try that X-1 challenge but it's honeslty not much fun with the controller, I wish I could test the x-1 before going like that on the track.

I just want the dec. 20 update to give online credit for racing. That's all that I need to play a bit more.

It's sad to see so many people have a higher b-spec level than a-spec. Dont you guys like to race?

I am level 35 A spec, Level 24 B spec, with every event and challenge I have entered golded (including X1) and I feel I have barely started, once I am done with sanctioned races (A spec B spec), I will get into driving, tuning, testing, photographing the cars I like and want, a long with getting stuck into online races and "track days" with friends.

The thought of driving an X1 is keeping me going.

Another nice thing about the X1 is even a bronze medal is worth about 440,000xp so if you get the X1 at lvl 30 you're already at 31 and change... It's a free level (with a hard challenge to get it!)

I am far from bored, I just don't want to sit for 4 hours pressing a button so I am in a bind as to what to do, B-Spec is gettin used up quickly.

Family cup was nice in GT4, but all I can find is 'one make' or whatever it´s called.
Is there no option to play against equal cars (without all of them being the same as the one you use)?

I really don´t like B-Spec because of the races having more laps and that it lacks fast forward option. You don´t even get as much exp or money as in A-Spec...
I´m lv.23 and it takes forever to get to 24, since I don´t have a Formula GT.

I do B-Spec races because I want some of the prize cars and as much percent done as possible.
