Is it just me, or all these cones on the apexes and exits of some corner just awesome?
They give it a very real feel to it...

Just my thoughts, share yours if you want.

P.S. I'm not one of those people who crashes into the cones.

I am not sure why you feel this gives it a realistic look, I see very few cones marking apexes and exits to corners on real race tracks.

They did. That's why the cones are there.

I much prefer cones to an invisible line that says whether or not you cut. Cones are very definite.

And since these are more like track day sessions (even though they are limited to a couple corners) you would most likely see cones like these marking apexes and track boundaries, just maybe not in the scale they have done in come corners.

Cones are good. In some instances they are too close but I don't mind it. I really like it.

I think some Red line on asphalt would be better.
Look at Top Gear Track Test - cones are all over the place.

I really don't like them. I find them curiously distracting.

GT4 had a perfect balance of restrictions in the licence tests. I think PD need to look to the past, and not to the future, to make GT5/GTA the game/competition it should be (strangely).

Most people with even a passing interest in motorsport know that the white lines denote the edge of the track and anything more than two wheels over it will result in a penalty, expect special predefined corners like the Ascari chicane exit at Monza.

I think though it's tough to judge where your wheels are in a sim sometimes. In that case a cone that is placed at the limit of legal is easier to see.

Note the bollards that many tracks use in chicanes to keep drivers from sneaking a bit of extra cut. Or they could do what they have at the Variante del Rettifilo at Monza and put in monster curbs. That way if you do cut it's slower.

I just wish they would fix grass clipping. Some of the lessons you can clip it, others will fail you if you just touch it.

The cones are a great addition; especially fun in cockpit view getting as close as I can, but leaving them still standing 👍

The track I like them the least is the Top Gear test track; it's like cones in a parking lot

I finally had time to sit down and put a couple attempts on 6-3. Whats up with the line into the first turn. I'm getting a little frustrated with that invisible wall when going wide on the first turn. No doubt its a line they didn't want us to take but why not add a few cones to close off that section? There's a least 6-8 cones that don't need to be used right at the beginning as your passing them when the 1-2-3 ends.

We're battling Skinny DG haha this is so much more fun when time to compare on GTACADEMY

I love this cones, I just load on 6-3, go full speed in to the corner and watch cones flying all over the place! I love the physics

Not entirely true. It depends entirely on the series/sanctioning body. If more than two wheels over the white resulted in a penalty regardless, the entire field in the BTCC, WTCC, or any TCC for that matter, would be sitting in the pits serving black flags from the start.
