Definitely investing in a UPS before I try anything longer than 4 hours. I did the GT4 24hr nurb. one at work with a generator.

Funny thing was I could hear the thunder so I sped up for a few laps until I realised it was going to take me 4 hours regardless of how fast I drove lol

About 190, I may have been just over 3.5 hours. I was in an '89 with a weight reduction, 169hp and racing hards. Averaging 1,06 to 1,09's with a best lap of 1,05.2 something.

Ha, that was pretty much what happened. Some guys playing golf an hour away got struck by lightning, one of them died so it could have been worse.

I have this event to do next. I was thinking of stock car + racing softs, as being a timed event I cannot make it any shorter with a much faster car. I will do some test runs before deciding. Just trying to find a six hour zone to do it in, ie 4 hours with breaks when no-one else can use the PS3.

My son is getting his own PS3 from Santa, this game will mean that at times I will need full use of the PS3.

Yeah, I think any mx5 with racing tyres would be enough, I was 8 or 9 laps in front but still having fun. The older ones ('89 etc) may need a touch more power to keep up but they are lighter. If you can lap around 1,10 then you'll have no troubles at all.
