That is always my fear with long endurance races in any racing game. Its exactly why I just have the AI in B spec do them. Imagine playing the 24 hour endurance race and you are up to 23 hours and all of a sudden the PS3 freezes or the power goes out.
B spec for endurance races. No other answer especially as unreliable as these new systems are.

Again, the issue is how moronic PD are for not SAVING during an endurance race.

Oops I do apologize for the unreliable statement. I do most of my gaming on the 360 and I am used to constant failure since the 360 is very unreliable. So I have adapted to that over the last 4 years of gaming. I have had the PS3 freeze a couple times too but nowhere near as bad as the 360.

I do agree I wish there was a way to save during endurance races. I dont know of any racing games that allow that for endurance races.

Living in Florida power failure is pretty common, in my area we have a lot of outages even without storms. With the exception of 24 races it's something that can be handled with UPS's.

If I am running the 24 hour race and the power goes out half way in I doubt I will be able to milk enough juice out of the UPS to last another 12 hours. I might wait for future updates before tackling those longer races.

Sort of offtopic but related. I've discovered a nice little bug on Tsukuba. 4 hours into the 9 hour race I missed pit entry so now the AI is driving my car... Its very easy to overshoot the pitlane if you have a fast car (i.e X1 in my case). A-Spec AI driving - who'd have thought! I just hope they remember to pit otherwise I've just lost 4 hours.
