Going forward: (Post Bathurst)

1. Make not qualifying a rookie and post QP registration info carry the same penalty so no advantage is gained by swapping one for the other.

2. Make a minimum runtime for all classes and ranks, either an hour, or the minimum to score points thus closing the loophole, thus it wouldn't be a farce to force a team to field another graded driver.

I do not really get what's going on here. It's all fine and TRL didn't brake rules - check Appendix 1+9. There's no need for 4 individual drivers, and why should there be a penalty for people who do not participate in the race?

Was fun to read this thread in the morning though

1 - Why has a penalty been removed from the #30 car?

The penalty for 'Failure to Qualify a ROOKIE Driver' can be avoided by removing or replacing said driver and taking the 3 Warnings for a 'Change to Event Registration Form after QP.'

I feel this is common sense and was applied multiple times last year. The purpose of the penalty is that as we have not seen that the rookie driver is capable of lapping within 107% and displays good driving standards that driver may be a risk in the race. If that driver is no longer going to take part in the race, there is no risk and the penalty is illogical.

2 - Is the #30 car's drive line up in accordance with the regulations?

No, it isn't. NERDS normally pings me if this issue arises, but in this case, it didn't, as NERDS thinks it is a legal lineup, highlighting a flaw/loophole with the current regulation.

As there is no minimum Driving Time for GT3 PRO, then you could field a team of P-P-G-S, and not have the Gold Driver get in the car at all.

I am not going to go through the farce of getting them to add a Gold or Platinum driver who will not and does not need to take part in the race. They may race with their current (P-P-S) lineup.

That makes sense, I am happy with the application of the rules. It was a good catch by StigsTC, and am glad it was brought up and answered.

So in response to the driver lineup requirements, the rules HAVE magically changed overnight (making everything I said yesterday somehow valid) because "its too much hassle" when other teams in the past have had up to 2 drivers forcibly added to their team as late as half an hour before the race.
k.

You called it. 👍

UPDATED

- Event Entry List

- #30 will not revive an extra 3 warnings for this change as I should have told them that they had to replace their rookie with a Gold or Platinum driver, not just remove him.

Back to the real world...

Its funny because I was going to make a joke where I offer myself to fill that slot. I'm ok with this.

Do you understand now why I do not have a problem with their line up and how they are in no way gaining an advantage?

@AJ, can you confirm that the cones on the final corner of the track will not be so disastrously violated this weekend, and safely moved to the edge of the track prior to the race? Also, can you confirm that all safety cars will remain in an upright position for the duration in which they are used?

I would hate to see a repeat of the terrible events regarding the cones at Suzuka. And leave the acrobatic rolls to hired stunt jets... :)

Can't wait for the weekend to roll around! Not long now at all!

I'd just like to thank the one and only @HP for accepting me into the GHH ranks and giving me my TCN-1 debut! It's an absolute honour to be driving for an Aussie team that I've looked up to since day one of being in this series.

We made it through qualifying by the skin of our teeth to be on the grid for the B12HR. A QP session to forget from me, my time was no where near close to my practice PB. All the connection dramas in QP1 and a rush to get out for Valentine's Day had my mind clouded, but was great to see no issues following into the remaining sessions and a great Qualifying live stream as a result :).

TCN-1 looks to be highly competitive and with seven teams now it's going to be a very tough race ahead. GT3 Pro looks to be a memorable class race ahead also! Wishing everyone attending the best of luck for the race!!

It's great to have you onboard mate, be thankful that, unlike last year, being onboard is not related to boating

It's not your first time around TCN1 cars though. I remember seeing your Lexus pass us a few times at Tsukuba. :)

Haha very much so! I'll leave that to the Pro's ;).

This is true! Actually in fact, that race is what made me quite keen to try out TCN-1 as it looked a lot of fun that round. :) the rating restrictions this year will make it even tighter!
