4X4s in GT4

I don't mind trucks or SUVs in GT4 if it means less Lancers. I would rather have SUVs and trucks than 50 Lancers.

Umm Hyundai Racer, this topic is about SUV's in GT4. Anyway I woulnd't mind the utility type vehicles like the SSR and others but no huge ass 4x4's. Anyone remember the Pajero mini from Gran turismo, that was a 4x4 if a little small :)

There have alrady been 4x4 concepts like the Mitsubishi Airtrek and Infiniti FX45 in GT Concept, and weve seen pic of some more cars being tested, personally I dont like the idea.

4X4's = Slow and Sluggish.

At the end of the day it's variety and like thoes car or not they will be some in the game and they won't make the game worse for anyone that does'nt like them, but for people that do the game will be better.
 
I remember a special edition Range Rover on Top Gear I think, cost £80k on top of the standard car I think it might have beaten a Porsche or something 0-60 but the Range Rover was going on the grass! Obviously it handled like crap around corners though :D

I'd quite like a few 4x4's say 1 Japanese, 1 US, 1 UK but not really anymore.
 
It was on TopGear and it was a top of the range SLK it beat, but SLK's arn't that good really but the RangeRover was accelerating on grass.
 
It's a RACING-GAME...................GET RID OF THE 4x4's PLEASE!!!!!!!
 
IT's game that has a variety of racing types in it, 4x4's is an extra type that is'nt taking any of the others away so if you don't awnt them don't use them.
 
t5-R and live4speed - that was the new model Overfinch Range Rover. Overfinch have been modifying Range Rovers for years, and they are awesome - and yes it blew apart an SLK in a straight line when the Merc was on tarmac and the Finch was on rough grass. But then they took it to the track and it was slower than Jodie Kidd in the "reasonably-priced car"...

I was a little unfair in the roll-test - it was the old model Range Rover. The new one has some stability control to stop it doing that - but I wouldn't like to do the last chicane in Trial Mountain in one...
 
Yep thats the one, it was the slowest car of the series in the track tests they had on that board.

What do you mean it isn't taking any of the others away? Every SUV in the game will be taking space for another sports, LM, JGTC, Rally, etc car! It takes a long time to develop cars for Gran Turismo, effort which could be used for better racing macines! I'll be disappointed if some bruttish SUV like the Escalator/Navigade make it to GT4...:banghead:

IMO it will be a lot better than some bloody ****box Suzuki or Daihatsu

One programme I saw did a motorway swerve test - simulating what would happen if you had to swerve round a stationary object at motorway speeds. The microscopic hatchback did it perfectly. The Range Rover flipped - at only 50mph...

Yeah, but that Range Rover was over 15 years old...:p Didn't tune it to watch what they said after? ;) It was Top Gear...I happened to see that episode about 2-3 weeks ago.
 
I'm again waving the flag for OZ utes (pickups for the less than ocker)

We have a race series for them: brute utes.

They're great to watch, a lack of rear grip makes for excellent racing. They're a support catagory for the bigger events.

No they ar'nt, PD will have a list of all the cars they want in the game and another with all the cars they can get, if Ferrari phoned tomorrow and said you can use our cars do you think PD would say no we've filled that space with a few Jeep's and RangeRovers.

Those seem like road going oriented utes, and all of them are very capable track vehicles. I think they would be fine for GT. On the other hand, I agree that the Jeep, Range Rover, etc. don't strike me as relevant unless they are specific rally oriented trucks, like the Baja Ranger's, F-150's, Dakota's, S10's, etc.

well the wrangler and range rover might be in the game, i have seen them in pics
 
I would rather have SUVs than station wagons. Why did they put station wagons in GT3.

if they had an 80 degree decline as one of the races in gt 4 range rover would win. But 4 x 4's suck, my dad had a jeep cherokee, it was great off road but my god what an awfull car the rest of the time.
 
I would hardly call the Nissan Cube an SUV, its more like a mini-van, not a mini-van you yanks call them but those small vehicles you see in Japan and Hong Kong.
