or you are very light. i dont have a ton of lowend torque, (more than ****ty hondas), but my car is light as **** and with decent tires i can launch with a tsi.

I loved my Ford Lightning.

I could smoke most anything that ever tried to race me.

I wanted a truck to haul my snowmoblies in the winter, something to tow my sea-doos in the summer, something I could throw my tools in the back or a load of scrap, and something that if I felt like it I could race around in.

It was a truck, and I treated it like one. It had the hell beat out of it and it stood up tough. Still, when the roads were slick and I was doing 100km/h and I put my foot down it still had enough go in it to break traction and spin nicely.

I want it back.

:odd:

Rotfl all you want.

It was a hardworking truck that never let me down once and I would not think twice about buying another one.

It was the finest truck I ever owned and unfortunatly I had to part with it because it was replaced by my father with a F-350 HD that lasted us all of 6 months before it blew the tranny.:odd:

actually trucks are the "trend" now. theres a war with "muscle" trucks today just like it was with the muscle cars back in the day. but still no one can touch the lightening. except that 500hp dodge ram.

I like trucks too because my friend popped the hood on his chevy 1500 and it had all that room!!!!! Oh the engines that would go in that! *Drool*

as much as i prefer the lightness and nimbleness of lotus, i have to admit on my recent trip to America I was impressed by the sheer size of the pickup trucks out there. My dad was particulary impressed by the Dodge Heavy Ram.
But sadly running one in the UK would cost tremondous amounts. First we would have to get one there, second, we live in a rural area where narrow roads are common, and finally the the amount it would cost to run on petrol alone would be extremely high. Prices per gallon (our gallon is slightly bigger) are 4/5 times that in America.

Yep they are all over the place, stupidly massive, and incredibly annoying.

ok then lets just have a bunch of little tic tacs running all over the world. i like cars but not those tiny things. those are for women.

Yeah. The Cooper S - the 'muscular' Mini - has 163bhp from a supercharged four, which does 0-60 in 7.4 seconds.

my dad has a 2003 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty with the hemi as his "work" truck. that thing is sweet. it has some real get up and go in it. when my dad first got it he said he would often look down and notice he was going well over the speed limit and had to slow down all the time.

small cars are all over the UK for teh reason as i said earlier, our petrol prices are much higher, our road tax is probably higher and our insurance is higher. Also we have some of the highest new car prices in Europe.

Dont forget you have small roads. Where i live we have a high tax rate on our roads but they dont get fixed until 5 years when they are pretty much gone

Cancelled - thank God. Can somebody remind me why people enjoy two-wheel drive performance pickup trucks?

The same reason people enjoy two-wheel drive sports sedans, or peformance SUVs...or most any other sportscar?

Because they're fast, and usually look good.

The whole idea of a 'performance truck' is stupid. Trucks are used for hauling ****, they're big and heavy they arent meant to go fast. Whats this about Minis being for women? If you haven't noticed most women drive massive SUVs. The Mini Cooper S is an awesome little car, it handles like a gokart and looks cool doing it.
