5 most enjoyable cars to drive

I bough the GT3RS with the intention of it being my main used car, but I drove it round the Nurburgring stock and I decided not to modify it.

Sure, it set me back a whole lot in the game, but after doing heaps of laps at the Nring, my levels went up and I got money for sposorship.

I love my GT3RS.

Wow. I just drove Silvia S15, and it is lovely.

Lotus Elise 111R is equally lovely to drive.

Mazda Miata, by comparison, is suprisingly unlovely to drive. I think I'm about to buy a new car.

The 3 Porsches (GT3RS, GT2, Carrera GT) are my favorites, all stock.

Edit... Adding the Lexus LF-A (stock)

Up to now:

- Porsche 911 GT2 (stock)
- Porsche 911 GT3 RS (stock)
- Nissan Skyline GT-R 2000 (stock)
- Lamborghini Murcielágo LP640 Works converted
- Pagani Zonda R

Dodge Challenger Concept stock.
I love everything of it, from the look to the sound to the handling.

V8 Vantage
Audi R8
Chevy Camaro (Stock)
Bugatti Veyron

I couldn't choose 5 because I didn't really come across 5 that were great.

However I loved driving:
-Nissan 2000GT-R
-Lotus Elise 111R

Some others like the Zonda R etc. were good but nothing in comparison to the two above.

Where are the enjoyable cars located??? Haven't found any yet... Must be in another car lot that hasn't been unlocked yet, huh???

1) Porsche 911 GT3 RS (Stock)
2) Porsche 911 GT3 RSR
3) Mazda MX-5 (brake and suspension upgrades Stage 2 (?), weight reduction, race exhaust, stock tires.…at a 3.98 spec..heaven around Ebisu west)
4) Porsche 911 GT2 (stock)
5) Maserati MC12 (I hate to admit this, but it's a fun drive)

The Porsche Cayman and Lotus Exige get honorable mention. The GT-R, Gallardo and R8 are all nice cars but the AWDs have far too much grip and are rather boring to drive in the game.

Don't be crabby Oshow.

A lot of the cars are beautiful to drive, putting a big smile on my face when I first take them out for a spin. :) The sound, cockpit view & sensation of speed is superior to any other game. With a good FFB wheel, it really feels like you're driving the car.

Unfortunately (as we've discussed endlessly), the physics don't quite live up to the initial impressions. However, I will say, that if you wanted to introduce a "civilian" to the pleasures of sim racing, Shift would be be the best place to start - outstanding immersion with relatively easy actual physics.

Although many of the cars are fun to drive - the Elise is so balanced, for the first time I understand why it is such an amazing little car for it's superior handling - I tend to gravitate towards the more "difficult" cars to drive because they offer more of a challenge in a game that's "too easy". For me, that would be the Honda S2000, the BMW 135i, the Porsche GT2, the Corvette Z06 (but I haven't tried all the cars yet).

The R8 is one of the most stable and agile vehicles in the game, it's absolutely fun to drive.

That, and the N400.

Try the CCX if you haven't already. It's, well, it's just scary.

There's "scary fast" & "difficult" - two entirely different things.

I never said it was scary fast.

It's fast, but the scary pertains to something of an entirely different nature.

I reckon - given that alot of us love the GT3RS - that we should have a race round the Nurburgring with them. Too bad you can't set the number of laps...just whether its long medium or short.....we should do long.:D

I have only driven two cars (new to the game) my first purchase the Escort Coswort is quite fun, i also bought a GT3RS and that is fantastic to drive.

I'd go for that but only if its possible to limit the admission of racers that we choose. Seriously, I've tried to race online on Shift and I give up - the dirty game that most of the drivers show its ridiculous.

I'll go for online racing but only with 100% clean racers.

One of us would create a private room on line then invite the others via ingame invite.

I have a feeling that my 5 Most Enjoyable Cars list might change once some of the bugs are fixed with this game... BUT,

So far I like:
  • BMW 135i
  • Lotus Elise
  • Chevy Corvette Z06 (Works converted)
  • Lambo Mercielago (Works converted)
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS

Thanks in part to Terronium-12 and his suspension tuning wizardry the last three cars in particular are very stable and responsive and just a blast to drive. If the force feedback effects with the G25 wheel was a bit better with this game, it would be REALLY amazing.

The Elise is almost TOO easy to drive, very, very balanced.

Also like the BMW & the Corvette, but I actually think the GT2 is more challenging to drive than the GT3.

The FFB with the Fanatec RS wheel ARE amazing, especially when you're driving one of the Porsches. 👍 :)

It takes a lot of skill to be able race bumper to bumper - everybody has to know the braking points very precisely. I'm sure we'll reach that point eventually with Shift. That's what made FC such a great experience: a small group of very fast experienced drivers who could race at the limit for lap after lap without any undue contact.

Yeah, I'm somewhat divided about online racing... it's by far the most exciting way to play any decent racing game, but I've had almost universally bad experiences everytime I've tried. Even with FC.

Basically it goes from being a simple 15minute race at Muguello or Monza to "Mad Max Goes Psychotic" as the end of the race approaches.

It would be much better I'm sure, with a group of people who wanted to do it the right way...
