I believe that Polyphony are interested in making as big an impact as possible when the game is released. Nobody has make any definite confirmations about the track and car numbers yet.

I think that we can expect 100 tracks (including reverse, upside down (jk) ... all that jazz), but the car numbers is something that they're gonna keep hidden.

Imagine this... You've just bought the game (can't wait!), and you get home expecting 500 cars. You turn on the console and find more like 700+ cars...
I think that Polyphony are just trying to make as big a surprise a possible.

GT1 + GT2 + GT3 + some GTC + Second hand cars (some of GT1 and GT2 here) + Historic cars + New cars = 500? No way man it's gotta be more.... much more

well, lets hope so, i think that whatever way the car number turns out, GT4 will be a glorious game for the PS2 and it will beat any other racer hands down no exceptions. we think we know, but we have no idea how great its going to be. :trouble:

Regarding people saying all the cars will be Japanese. Obviously a good proportion will be but they have been touring the world gathering car data. They were recently in the UK at Millbrook proving ground and then onto Germany I think so there will be Euro cars. I'm not sure if they mentioned a trip to the states but I'm sure they will (although they already have a bunch of muscle cars in there, and to be frank america doesn't really have many good performance cars above what already exists in the game :D ).

I'm soooo looking forward to it. The game/wheel bundle is optimisitically on my christmas list, hope it doesn't carry over to my easter or birthday list :)

there will be alot of Japanese

but this time there is going to be alot of older cars Japanese and non Japanese
