I don't know it was more of a prediction. You made the pole but didn't mention who you'd voted for, or in this case hadn't voted at all, just made me curious. What made me think you prefare 600PP? no idea, just a guess.

I voted 600pp. I prefer the lower power momentum cars to the hyperkinetic buzzbombs.

Well, I feel like making an "opening statement" kind of biases the process, but yes, I prefer 600PP. It seems to represent the performance of a real-life high-performance sports car.

750PP is fun, but very arcadey to me: the cars are too fast, too souped-up. Like race-cars, but not actually race cars. In addition, there just seem to be too many collisions online in 750PP, because, with no damage, people drive them completely recklessly: & recklessly at 750PP is worse than recklessly at 600PP (in addition, the drafting (on DR) seems totally daft). Finally, I have noticed that most of the 750PP cars are much more interesting to drive in their lower PP, "untuned" Arcade state.

I voted 750... which to my surprise is a minority here?!?! weird... I tried 600PP but it just didnt tickle my fancy... I like speed... more speed the better... :) but oh well... its just my preference... nothing more :)

I have to agree with what everyone has said so far but I voted for 750, I prefer the way the 600 cars drive and it is more realistic, I love the way they slide but I cant get over the tire restrictions the AWD cars have a huge advantage and I would love to see it a little more even. I would love to see a 600 race with the current tires restrictions for RWD cars only I think it would be a true test of skill. I know there are tons of very talented AWD drivers out there, I am not trying to take anything away from them I just want to see it more equal, so i was forced to chose 750.......:dopey:

Do you feel that the AWDs have an unrealistic advantage at 600PP, i.e the balance of the game is wrong? It may have to do with the tracks so far: there's no doubt that AWD is faster around Suzuka, not so sure about Fuji though, & Daytona Road might tell a completely different story.

AWD advantage on Suzi? I know I'm by far the fastest (average top 3-ish) but I had a guy in an F430 all over me like a rash for the 3 laps, me being in a R8. Perhaps it's because the RWD's are generally more demanding to drive and there are a lot of zones going from a constant to full throttle acceleration that people find it harder? On topic - 600PP all the way, reminds me of going around Castle Combe regarding the levels of grip etc. Also, I thought the GTR/F430 races were pretty mixed, not really showing any advantage either way. That, plus I'm a girl who can't really get on with 750PP on a DS

I prefer to race where it is less crowded, and that is usually 600pp. Also I seem to find marginally less punters and better driving at 600pp.

Nothing against fast cars though. I can't wait for some expert races in those Class C monsters once we finally get GT5.

PP600, I prefer the bigger range of competitive cars available, although it was seriously reduced when they brought in the tyre restrictions.

I prefer racing PP750 just because of the World Event, I like racing people outside of PAL and I like Daytona Road for a change.

PDs tweak in the Aug update to address RWD handling should close the advantage, but even on the S1s I've seen a number of good drivers win in a RWD.
Often I've watched tameturtle just blitzing the field in his NSX. I would hate to see what he would do if he was in an R8 though. :nervous:

I think I did better against RWD while driving AWD (R8) on Fuji that I do on Suzuki, but it might be more to do with the change in tires.

I currently prefer 600pp only because I have a couple of cars that I can drive and not be in everyones way. I have tried the 750pp but I really need to find a car (or more likely, a setup) that I am comfortable with so every time I race its not like I am just hanging on for dear life while trying not to ruin someone else's race.

most probably the same as a fast driver in an AWD, i'd say the skill level to drive a AWD at the limit is about 6/10 and then to drive a RWD quick obviously is from 6-10. if you can race an RWD to anything above 6 then you can only race the AWD to the limit(6/10)...you can't go beyond. well thats my opinion anyway...

I would not say unrealistic but the current tire restrictions almost simulate the rain and in wet weather we all know AWD has a huge advantage. My favorite car is the NSX, when I race it at suzuka I spend most of the lap slightly sideways, getting out of the corner requires all my focus and my hands are all over the place to keep the car out of the sand and I watch some of the faster guys in the AWD just slide the car into the corner, wait for it to grab and then just floor it and just launch out of the corner. My only hope is to stay close enough during the first part of the lap and use the draft on the straights to pass or close up.

That is my gripe about pp750. If you like tuned cars, cool, pp630-pp700 is responsible for them, some supercars can fit there to and make good racing. They are "tuned" cars, not race cars. Race cars are fun to drive, but are a much different beast than road cars, sports cars, supercars or tuned cars. When that line is blurred between them all it becomes arcade. That isn't fun.

Like right now in the pp750 class. You have 3 cars that are really competitive. The amuse s2000 (or is it the other tuned s2000, I don't drive either) which is a true tuner car. Then the tuned corvette with is PD's take on a Corvette GT1 (well really GT2 version) car. Lastly you have the Ford GT, which is a true LM car and next to the F2007 the only other "real" race car in the game. Each car is what it is but they don't belong on the track together, maybe the last two, but different classes.

Mines Skyline, GTR 35, Viper/tuned, Can be added to the list of top cars for 750pp. But as i've mentioned in other threads, we need a few more high performance cars that will give the current lot more competition, so as not everyone uses the same car for any given race.

I am 600PP all the way, I do occasionally venture into 750PP races but the extreme grip levels make it seems just a little to manic for me.

That said I would like to see 600PP with slightly higher grip tyres, preferably R1's and to keep raise the PP to 630 leveling the 4wd and 2wd cars. At the moment 4wd drives dominate 600PP because of the low grip tyres, only the NSX seems to have the performance to keep up. Having them on more of a level playing feild would mean more cars being strong competitiors and hopefully lead to a large variety of cars in use.

It seems to be the EVO X that has the upper hand in the 600pp, almost goes round Suzuka on rails.

Dont forget the Blitz! Theres a lot more competitive cars than you might think in PP750..even driving an F40 or stock GT or Viper can give you a win with a little bit of luck and fast driving.
