Please read below tunes at the bottom.
Just for reference I build anywhere from 2 to 5 builds of the same car to get the right build for it for certain kinds of tracks I have 912 cars in my garage mostly duplicates I've put alot of time in to understand this stuff and how this game actually works when it comes to (PP) racing.
I use controller so this may not translate to working on a wheel.
My tunes are for around use not track specific as I do pp racing only and there's always track changes on most lobbies.
I test my cars after I build them and I use a private online lobby with no wind this is due to the fact there's more grip offline then online and if the winds on depending on which direction it's facing and the speed can change the way the cars feels so you get inconsistent results so no wind is better for laps time consistency.
In this game there is no gearbox flip trick like in gt5 or gt6 most of the time I run the same gearing on all tracks because some will change gearing from track to track putting my gear for a tune is not really relevant however I will start posting my gearing setup but don't expect to gain some kind of advantage there is really no right or wrong way as long as the gearing match the track and power band of the car.
For reference I never use more then 6 gears in a car at 550pp to 600pp so if a car has more then 6 gear I make the extra gearing really short and don't use them this is because I've work out you get better drive out of corners in higher gear in most cars (not all of them)
I use controller so this may not translate to working on a wheel.
