I have been having the same problem for weeks now!! It started randomly and I have no idea whats going on. I've looked high and low, but everyone seems to be getting a 117 error not the 717 that we are receiving. I am currently playing around with firewall settings and ports to see if that can help us out at all.
The oddest part is that it SOMETIMES works. Usually I can get about a minute of racing in before it disconnects. (Long enough to pick my car and tweak a setting, if I hop in the race usually not able to complete 1 lap.) Doesn't matter whose game I try to connect to. I have been going through GT5 withdrawal PLEASE help!
Oh!
I am using a cable provider Called Teksavvy, they run off of Rogers home internet lines.
My modem is a MotorolaSB6121.
My router is a Belkin F7B2301 v1.
I am connected by NAT2.
I have the latest firmwares, and the PS3 is currently the only device besides my laptop using the connection.
I don't believe it is because of a slow connection because I get well above 30Mb/s (usually closer to 42Mb/s) and the ping is on average 118ms.
This happens any time of the day that I try connecting.
I also am have an issue setting my ports, can anybody please tell me what "private IP address" should be used? It is a mandatory field when setting my ports. Should this be the address of my PS3? Does this mean I will also have to set it to a static address?
Update: Just had a race with like 14 people and stayed in the game for about an hour so I have no idea whats going on. I did clear the cache, but even after doing that I still had a few that rejected before it worked.
