OK, my friend recently had rebuilt '77 center gauges installed on his '78 25th. Problem is, ever since the gauges were put in the tachometer's been screwed up (it reads 4,500 rpm when not running :odd: ) and the low fuel light is always on. Anyone know what's up?

well the Tach needle is a very sensitive device and can be damaged easily... i hope he was very gentle when he took it apart...

did he use water to clean it? did he let it dry thoroughly before re-installing? he might have caused a short circiut...

other than that.. try takin it all apart and putting it back together.. and make sure u plugged in everything correctly...

He was gentle and everything. He asked a couple of Corvette guys and said the '77 gauges aren't compatible with the '78 gauges. Looks like my friend will have to buy a '78 gauge cluster.
