And thus ends the this part in Toyota's Le Mans adventure. They did well. Most of the time.

Time to watch the GT classes now! :) Well... as soon as SPEED drops NASCAR.

I come home and the first pictures i see is the #7 toyota being retired and also i see the delta wing has not recovered from the contact it had earlier.

I'm an Audi fan but this situation keeps it from being a (more than likely) great victory.

Should be a much better fight next year tho, toyota showed great promise.

Lol. I like how the announcers on SPEED are trying to announce when it goes to the crowd. :P

They're obviously leeching off of someone else's feed.

Everyone is "leeching" off of someone else's feed considering French TV is in control of the live shots.

From OAK:

The inevitable news finally filters through. We have had to retire the #24 Morgan 2012 LMP2.

I'm pretty much officially not interested in this race anymore. Deltawing and Toyota officially out? Next....

Edit: Maybe check in for the GT Academy guys.

I think the landing is what did the damage.

It was pretty brutal...they need to do some major GTE AM regulations on experience needed for next year. I understand wanting to include less skilled drivers, but in the last 2 years they have caused some substantial problems and serious crashes.

I wonder what is going to happen in the next half of the race, despite the incidents that happened.

Anthony Davidson has tweeted from the hospital that he has a broken back from the earlier incident in the No.8 Toyota.

I think I speak for all when I wish him a speedy recovery and congratulate him for a nice race 👍.

For the 100th time, LMP2 and GT Pro and Am. :p

That's what Speed does.

F1, MotoGP, WSBK. All 3. They sit there in Charlotte watching on TV like you and me.

Yep. But to to be fair, they do originate the Rolex and Continental Tire series broadcasts, which are better than their leech efforts.

If only the cameramen stopped focusing on the Audis...

We know it. They won. Not even god can sink them unless he makes an iceberg pop out at Arnage.

Now, please, show us the battles in LMP2 and GT! :D

A shame that both Toyotas retired.
They had good pace and was giving the Audis a challange. Too bad they had to go out with craches.

I must say I am impressed with the two Lolas. If one or two of the Audis get problems a podium could be possible.

Hope Toyota will come back stronger next year!

LMP2 is some of the best competition! I love watching it, but they never focus on them enough. It's all Audi and GT classes

Oh, by the way: Appearently, National Geographic selected the 24h of Le Mans to be the most important sports event. More important than the Olyimpc Games, the Super Bowl and whatever else. NG just got 50% more awesome.

treed

Starworks leading in LMP2, Signatech in 3rd and 4th :). GT should start heating up in a few hours, Ferrari leading, 73 Corvette close by along an the Aston again, and the 74 Corvette is clawing it's way back up.

Given the circumstances, Toyota did well on their first Le Mans outing. Just seemed to go all horribly wrong after the Davidson accident, and the clash with the DeltaWing pretty much sealed their fate.

A valiant effort by the team nonetheless.👍

Didn't he get out of the car and start laying down on it to try and fix the bodywork so he could drive it back? What a hero.
