Hey Eliezer, When you get a bodykit for your Integra show me alright. Have fun looking for one. You are going for exterior modifications first? How about engine modifications?

im going for both. i got headers and intake right now. i dont need much more because then i will be tempted to street race. my father says that scince im only 16 if he finds out that i street race, he will take away my car. that would not be good

Header, not headers.

Why not save your money and buy a better car down the line? My brother spent loads on two Minis, two Fiesta Supersports and a Fiesta XR2, before realising what a waste of money it was. He then ran a series of "it'll get me there" cars and bought an Impreza RB5. He's just bought a WR1. No matter what you do to that Integra, he'd thrash you senseless in a "street race", even if he gave you a 10s headstart...

Sound financial sense. I like your dad, by the way.

In my opinion, i would rather take a cheap car and put about 20g into it, instead of buying a 20g car and not being able to put any money into it. But people have different opinions. Thats yours and this is mine.

Yeah Famine i know this guy he goes to my school. His dad seems cool he use to have a 12s civic  Anyways Eliezer wont sell hisI ntegra he seems to like it very much. I do tell him that there are better cars than his old integra but what can i say its his choice.

I bet with his dad turbocharged civic it will beat your brother's Impreza and if you give him a 10s headstart then... :D

Oh yeah, his dad sold the Civic i think. His family has an RX7 FC (N/A convertible) and an AE86 as far as i know. Plus his Integra and his younger brother CRX.

Yea chia. My dads was runnin mid 11s by the way on the 1/4. He sold it to a friend of his. It had the LS engine from a 91 integra with the vtec head from a b16. with the ct26 supra turbo charger. running about 15psi. with the edelbrock exhaust. It had much more things but that is the main on the engine. Things like the low compression pistons and the valves, big front mount intercooler. body kit, altezza tail lights, big fuel injectors, msd, vtec controller, fmu, racing chip. All that stuff, but he sold it. thats something i wouldnt have done. It was a nice 88'civic and still is.

£29,995

But you end up with a £30k car, rather than a £1k car with £29k spent on it and worth £1k at resale (to a dealer - a similarly minded person may well pay over the odds). The build quality is excellent, the equipment levels are excellent and it drives like an expensive car, and not a cheap car done up.

A cheap car is always a cheap car, no matter what you spend on it. To quote "You can't polish a turd".

rollazn - only just. The STOCK WR1 hits 100mph in 10.67s and the quarter in just a fraction more that that (sub 12s). And it will wipe a drag racing Civic off a track with little worries. :D

LOL. its a street civic. not a drag one. it runs mid 11s with street tires. Thats roasting the tires all the way through third gear. And i wouldnt plan to sell my car if i spent 29k on fixing it up. I would keep it till it rotted out. lol

Yeah, i know its impressive. On a track with corners yeah you will burn the civic. :D on a drag stirps since its running sub 12s and his civic is running mid 11s + 10s head start you promise us :D

I wouldn't burn anything - it's not my car (and it's not my brother's yet - he picks it up on April 30th).

So, how much money did this 11s Civic on "street" tyres cost to put together then?

With the corner up!

$10,000 to make a 160hp FF Civic only a little slower than a 320hp 4WD Impreza?

I think you meant only alittle faster... Anyways yeah i dont know how much for the civic either but yeah i think they might spent like a total 15K +/- including the civic itself. I dont really know. :)

Nope. I mean only a little slower. The Civic "runs mid 11s with street tires", the Scooby runs low 11s out of the showroom (that's with standard tyres, not special tyres which happen to be street-legal, but only through semantics). WR1 is clocked at 4.2s 0-60mph and 10.67s 0-100mph.

I don't doubt the Scooby is more expensive, but you get what you pay for...

Someone I am acquainted with spent £15,000 modifying a Renault Clio. He decided to change it for a Scooby and took it to a dealership to sell it. They offered £2500 for it - the list price of the base car.

I wonder how much the insurance is on that Civic too? The Scooby is group 20 (out of 20), but many insurers won't touch a car modified to that extent...

Didnt you say the Scooby ran sub 12s in the 1/4? If not then im sorry your correct.

Exactly, i would much rather have hte Scooby than the Civic myself. I totally agree.

Haha, that gotta suck. After all the work, why didnt he just buy the Scooby first before he did all those modifications. I know what you mean though my cousin is the same way he spent over 6K on his eclipse doing exterior work mostly and he is trying to sell the Eclipse now. People is offering 10K for a low milage Eclipse, he spent 30K overall including the car itself. There is a person trying to buy it for 15K if that work out, then he would be lucky because i know an base eclipse with his milage and year wouldnt get 15K. BTW my cousin with the eclipse also bought a Scooby, STi

At the end of the day an Eclipse is still an Eclipse worth practically nothing. At the end of the day a STi is still a STi worth more than the Eclipse

I dont know about his insurance. My cousin STi i dont know either i will ask him later. Probably cost alot for a 300hp car for a 19 year old?

The WR1 is that fast? Stock hitting low 11s? Thats with a 320hp engine? It dont make sense. Our STi with 300hp dont run that much the best it can run is probably 12.9 with a really good driver on good condition days. The strongest Impreza is the 22B rated at 280ps/276hp but it really push out around 350hp and 302 ft lb of torque. It dont run 11s either only mid to high 12s.

I think not... Even a Viper/Ford GT/Zonda/Murcielago/F1/whatever else supercar you can name doesn't do a quarter mile run that fast from the factory. WRX STi's run the quarter in low 13s from the factory, the WR1 should do it in high 12s at best.

the h22 swap will be in about a year. thats why i want the body kit now.

I think not either, there's no way an H22 fits in a first gen Integra...

Thats what you post eariler. Sub 12s make sense. I searched and exact same performance figure came up.

Only 4.25 Seconds To Reach 60 mph

For example, 60 mph is reached in an astonishing 4.25 seconds with the 0-100 mph time at an equally impressive 10.67 seconds. Prodrive technicians also logged a quarter mile time of 12.8 seconds while the top speed is limited to 155 mph.

By comparison, the ‘standard’ 265 bhp Impreza STi is quoted with a 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds and a top speed of 151.5 mph.

12.8 i dont know how you got 11s. ;)

My fathers a mechanic. He knows you can put a h22 in that 88 integra. There will be some costumizing. But it can be done and will be done.

Unless you get out the cutting torches and kiss goodbye to your power steering, there's no way in hell it will fit in there. A B18C is a tight fit in there, I just don't see how an H22 will fit in.

yea. it will fit. the problem is the intake manifold. It would touch the firewall. That is why you got to make a costum intake manifold. but everything else will fit great.

Im thinking about leaving the stock 1.6twin cam in there though, because my uncle has one in his 86civic and hes running low 12s. with a turbo charger. But i dont know. I'll figure it all out sooner or later

i mean. seriously. My dad knows about all this stuff. He is a mechanic.

Mechanic's fix ****. They aren't usually masters of engine swaps.

My father has been building cars scince he was 12 years old with his father. I believe he knows a whole lot more than you do about all this stuff. My dad owns his own shop and when somebody he knows needs a car built. its my father that does it around here. So please dont talk about things you dont know one bit about

I never once said anything about your Daddy. I just said that mechanics fix ****, and they're not usually masters of engine swaps. I don't think you have to have been building cars since you were 12 to know what a mechanic's job consists of.

Anyhoo. If your Daddy knows everything about Honda motor swaps, then have him put that H22a into your 88 Integra, and make sure to post pictures when it's all said and done.

i cant do it yet. it is still sitting there waiting for me to drive it. He is not just a mechanic. He knows like every bit about cars. hes done engine swaps on hondas for a while. he put a 1.8 ls with a vtec head on his civic. he knows all this stuff

Sorry - mis-think. I have the same page rollazn quoted bookmarked. D'oh!

I'm going to have a drink now. :D
