thinking of the f1 car in gran turismo...

i dont remember any f1 car using 900 degrees ever...can someone please tell polophony to fix this. its so simple as well, a tiny bit of software can be written to fix it, and allow adjustments.

How about just going to the control panel and turning off 900d steering when you're in an F1 car?

1. This belongs to the GT5P forums.
2. It's a well known fact.
3. It's "Polyphony" and we dont know how and we are not able to contact them.

I'm asking a mod to lock or move this dude, sorry.

The DFpro had a button combo the switched the wheel itself to 180 or 900. You could also change the force feedback on the wheel. I dont think you can do this on the Driving Force GT or the G25.

You do realise that a mod has already posted in here and didn't make any criticisms of the thread himself?

You can change the degrees of roation at any time on the DFP by using a button combination, I've never checked for options in the game because of this but if there isn't then I guess it's down to which wheel you are using.

Ineed, it works only with the dfpro.

Fortunately I have a Fanatec 911 wheel so can change the rotation with the wheel from 900 degrees to 360 degrees which is better for the F2007. I think that PD should make it either adjustable ingame or have it so that the steering rotation changes to a realistic level by itself with each individual car, for people with wheels that cannot do this, especially since the G25 wheel is very popular and does not have any kind of option to change it.

If you were to look at the steering degrees for all the cars in GT5, you'd probably find a range from ~450° to 900°. So, the game will just ignore any input (further rotation) beyond 450° for F1 cars for example, and allow the full 900° for cars that actually have this in real life. One thing we might need an option to select the maximum degrees (to 1 degree) on the wheel itself. Just like in Life For Speed and other sims.

THE point in 900 degree animation is for cars that use it, a better way to put it is to have a 1:1 ratio that way its dependent on the car.

AFAIK, some wheels can choose from 180 and 900.

Well we're all hoping GT5 will fully support wheels like the G25. We all want adjustable rotation, not only to suit the car, but also to suit our driving preference. I don't have a G25 yet, i'm still using the pad for prologue, but when i do get a G25 i won't want to use 900 degree (can you reduce it in the settings for the G25, i know its not fully supported but is there a way?)

The Logitech Driving Force Pro can be locked to either 180 or 900 degrees. The Fanatec 911 Turbo S can be locked to 270, 540, and 900. I'm not sure if the Fanatec 911 GT3 RS is locked to the same parameters as the Turbo S (someone else will have to confirm).

As far as within GT5:P itself, there is no option to adjust the steering ratio.

As for 900 being unrealistic. I would go a bit further (beyond the F1 refference) to say, it isn't very realistic for most vehices in the game. Most cars do not have a 900 degree steering ratio. Some are closer to 720, some around 800, some as low as 540 to 600 degrees.

In a perfect world, the game would adjust the ratio to reflect the real world counterpart. PC sims of course allow for independent adjustment in the profiler (independent of game), but even then, you have to do your research and make some trial and error adjustments to achieve the desired "realistic" ratio for the vehicle in question.

Fortunately I have a Fanatec 911 wheel so can change the rotation with the wheel from 900 degrees to 360 degrees which is better for the F2007.

You can lock it to 360? Which wheel do you have? Turbo? Turbo S? GT3-RS? Or is it a pre-launch beta model?

;)

Just lower the turning angle of the car.

Who in the heck are you? Stop being a baby brownnose.

yeah so does anyone know anything that is being done to sort this out?...

i find it very fustrating that i brought this wheel g25. im not an expert at simulators, but 900 degrees for an f1 car?...how can they claim gran turismo is the greatest simulator when you have to drive an f1 car with 900 degrees.

what makes matters worse is that its not even a hard thing to implement.

and as another poster identified. most real life road cars dont even have 900 degrees. some have like 540.

by the way that is not me lol.

and what is this car barstard's problem?...why are some people so (cant find word)...

No can do (on F2007).

The F1 car has no lock.I am using a DFGT and it offers 900 degree rotation but not all the cars recquire full 900 degrees turn as in the case of F1 car,you just use as much wheel rotation as needed by the car for example the turning cycle of a clio is much smaller than a dodge viper,DFGT just provided us with the 900 degree rotation and that does not mean we have to use it all,I never had any problems with it.What if the wheel only offered 300 to 400 degrees then we will say we cant turn the stock cars fully.Too much rotation degrees can't be a bad thing, you just have to be a little bit quicker with the fast cars.
