And out goes Fox Sports 3, in goes the HDMI to the laptop, and time for Eurosport's awesome but delayed by a couple of minutes stream.

Seriously, all motorsports series should not run this weekend so they don't take coverage away from Le Mans. Just my two cents.

There was a statement due on the hour. Certainly planning a statement means something happened...

There are reports that Simonsen, the Aston Martin driver died for that crash :(

Please, I know you mean no harm but don't come with such grim news without a proper source :nervous:

I heard it right now as well. The Aston Martin driver has just recently died. R.I.P racing warrior.

Oh... :( That's horrible... I feel bad right now.

I don't know the drivers name well but I'm shocked. You'd think that all of this technology would prevent such thing. I think that's the reason why I'm shocked. I've been so confident with technology. RIP Simonsen.

So I'm assuming the Vipers are in the Same class as the factory Vettes?

We do have a proper source the live web feed from the ACO just gave the news.

Eurosport not mentioned it.

I'm... ugh. Why? WHY?!

Could be worse. Much worse.

Fox Sports 3 is taking a 3 hour break from Le Mans to show stupid Nascar Nationwide.

Ohh don't worry. TV2 is showing football later in the evening. 'Cause it's not like football isn't being aired on every other channel, so they just have to cut in on Le mans to show it.

He died. :(

It didn't look that bad.
rip

Exactly, there have been crashes in the last 2 years which looked 100x worse than this... :(

.....

The FIA WEC livestream commentors just mentioned it

Oh my God.. Rest in peace Allan.

Damn guys, horrible, horrible news. Suffice to say, it saddens my day.

Godspeed, Simonsen. May your final seconds of life be glorious and full with the noise of that Aston Martin.

And Allan Simonsens twitter read:

Professional race car driver, living the dream...
