There's a lot of history behind these cars and that's why they are worth so much. I wonder how much they would be worth if they hadn't beaten the Ferraris...

Not surprising. Despite all the replica's, nearly every single original Shelby Cobra or Daytona will fetch a pretty penny.

Funny I was just reading about this thing about a week ago. One of the owners lit herself on fire to commit suicide, and left the car to one of her friends or something. There was a huge debate over who's car it was after that. Atleast something like that.

She? Whatever girl owned this was officially one of the coolest girls in the world.

Wonder how STINKING rich you have to be to even consider a 15 Mill $ collectable?

very interesting indeed.

Quite the story. Any word on how it played out between the mother and the friend? And how did it end up in this womans storage unit to begin with?!

It would be real interesting to get the full scoop on this story between mother and friend.

I would have loved to have been her kid. 💡

Probably a museum, or Jay Leno.

Oh, i don't know, thankfully plenty of owners are willing to use them as god intended.

It wasn't as pretty as AC's own version of it either:

Whoa. Do you have any more pics of the AC version? I've never heard or seen of it until now! Hmm found some info on it but no pictures. It's a one off car and was nearly destroyed at le mans after a tire blow out.

Ok, it's über rare and super cool, but 15 million dollars? Well, I guess it's worth it... or something.

I remember seing a completely stock and as good as new Plymouth Cuda Convertible 426 Hemi '71 in a swedish car magazine. The owner had been given a bid of 4 million dollars, but he didn't want to sell it.
