Yes, it's a de-stroked Audi 5 cylinder. I think it used to be like 2.3L and he took it down to 2.1. This way, he can run higher revs. He runs an AWD system, and the 900hp is an
estimate since he can't keep the wheels from spinning on a dyno when the boost comes on.
He's running
fourty-five pounds of boost in that thing. That's the reason he
hasn't put in the Audi aluminium block he has sitting in the garage - he's not sure the block can handle the boost. The power-to-weight ratio was his big desire. He's way past NASCAR, and really close to CART and F1 territory.
The interior is all carbon-fiber. Literally. The dash, steering wheel, seat (yes there's only one), everything. The entire back end of the car is made up of the radiators, fans and all of the fluids. The 'side-pipe' you see is the business end (4") of a custom-made muffler that sits just behind the driver and looks to be about the size of a coffin (

).
About $500,000 is the estimate for the car's build cost. Easily one of the most insane street cars ever built. If anyone has the "Full Throttle" montage video from the Taner site(s), you can see this car in action (albiet with a slightly different paint job). Also, there is an article on it in an old Sport Compact Car. I don't remember what issue, but it was the one with the 6 WRXs in it.
