I dont understand... Growing up this was one of the cars I admired along with the McLaren F1, Lambo Diablo, F40 and so on... How could someone neglect a car of this status like that and why hasnt anyone picked the friggin' thing up so he/she can fix it up??? To top it all off only 900kms on the clock! :ouch:

Problem is, the car probably got dirty and the guy who owns this one had another one of them in the garage.. It's not uncommon sight to see cars like this abandoned around that are of the world.

Looks like a trip to the middle east is long overdue ;)

Any XJ220 with only 900kms on the clock is going to require re-commissioning. I believe that's a £20k job, before you even look at any damage repairs :scared:

It's the sad case with people owning cars that are in very ill shape, yet are classics. There's a guy not far from where I live who owns one of those really old New York City Taxi Cabs (Checkers?) and it's in very bad shape (it's sitting in a garage), yet it would be an awesome car to own. The guy's asking about $35K for it. :irked:

*raises hand* I'll take it!

Bet it's been stolen or something, though. No registration...think it's being left until the police stop looking, so that it's title can be wiped, and it can be sold in another country...

What's stopping people from rolling up with a flatbed truck and taking it away? Being able to drive it or not, I'm sure everybody would agree that it's better off sitting in a garage clean and taken care of than in that condition.

Very sad, I remember my dad taking me to see one in our local Jag dealers and pushing me to the front so I got to sit in it. God knows what type of soulless person could own a piece of history like that and not keep it safe.

You would need a pretty big flat bed to fit it on! Any decent folk going to see the MotoGP in Qatar this weekend who could liberate it?!?!

The current owner needs to be drawn and quartered. This is a sad sight to behold... :(

I guess I just never really feel bad if a car is left to rot like that. It's just a car.

I do, however, wish those pictures were more photographically appealing.

Have to agree with Joey, maybe if it was the very last one I would care but it's not.

Theres a hundred different reasons why it's a sad sight.

There's charities set-up to protect endangered species, and this kinda stuff here, is just one more example of a species facing extinction!

Aside from the obvious shame of the neglect, does anyone else think this car looks incredibly cool with dust all over it, its turned it into a bit of a sleeper.

How could they do that? I know the XJ220 isn't on my top 10 list... Actually, it is...

That car is a legend. It's definitely an endangered species.

I'm a person that imagines every kind of object with some sort of soul, like computers and cars. And when I look at things like that XJ, it makes me imagine a tiger that's been crippled and left to die.

If I could do anything, anything at all for this car, I would most gladly.

I'm starting an "Adopt an XJ220" charity. We all donate and go get the thing, fix it up. We'll share the car, keeping it for two weeks at a time. Sound good?

It's probably left abandon the same reason other supercars are abandoned in that region. Financial issues hit the owners & they flee the country. The cars can't be picked up though because records show it still belongs to someone.

This is a real travesty 👎

I hadn't heard of that one before, only 900kms on the clock!!!

Absolutely hate the story, where most of us are out to cherish even a picture of a beauty like this, it happens that they are completely abandoned.

Sad Sad story indeed

If it has no details on it, couldn't you nick it, and then have no way of tracing it back to the owner; or am I missing something here? I mean, come on! Look at it! I'd pay £50 for one of those and a 'rescue mission'!

No paperwork, no registration. If your name isn't on the title, you won't be getting the car very far.
