its the best that I could do.
 
Hey. I'm not to late to do this challenge am I? I love this track and I've been busy so I've only been combin over the challenges and missed this one.  Great times all.

I got this done now. Sorry for makin y wait. My best lap and speed came on the same lap...48.416 @ 201.39.
This is the best i can do.
 
WOW!!!!!I havn`t had time to try this challenge that much.I mean i`ve beat this game 2 or 3 times but, you guys are way out there.
      I couldn`t get under 1 minuite myself.Guess i`m getting too old lol.
 
Boy do i feel silly!I jumped all over that one.I`m sorry guys i thought we were on the laguna seca challenge.
Hmmmmm now i`ll have to try that one even if it`s over.No wonder the times sounded so good.lol
 
Hi my first effort with the XJ220  945hp finished like this.

total.......0:47.357 ... 322.27km/h, 200.25mph

Next try.

0:46.955 total,  327.58kph....203.55mph

I know it will do better, just that the manual takes a little getting used to again, I normally only use it on some licence tests.
A friend has done a 0:42.xxx on auto trans.

This shows the old farts can still cut-it :)
PS I hope I got the mph correct, I had to convert it from kph

Hi all , I gave it another shot , I had a :47.? but lost the info, Ive worn my thumbs out . The best I could get was a 0:48.203 //206.24 mph// .    Rob ,you must have that car dialed in perfect , congrats,  I,m packin it in & goin to next race ,maybe I,ll see you there :0
 
To me, I find manual settings quicker and easier because the engine can brake and you can use all the revs. I still can't beat Rob's time though. I'm stuck on a 1:47.593. I'll keep trying though.
 
Looks like I still need some practice on this one, im just :nervous: I guess.
 
Mayb, but with the manual box, you don't need to look at the rev counter, you just have to listen to the engine, when the note gets high, you change up, too low, and down. You'll get used to corners and how much to change down quickly.

Oracle: 46:422 @205.71 mph

Note: the only mods the XJ220 accepts are turbos (up to 4) and weight reduction and race mod. I assume for this challenge that you do all of these.

my best after 18 laps, and I'm not an MT person at all:
48.205 @198.78 mph

and from my experience, I believe all the better times are legit

Are you aware that you bumped a 10-year old thread? Also, the GT2 High Speed Ring is a lot narrower and slower then the GT5 version so the challenge is gone.


Edit: Just seen you're a GT2 user, so that makes my second point redundant...
 
Yes, I'm aware that I bumped a 10 year old thread. But I'm not responding to any of the original posters, I'm just bringing still relevant content to the awareness of current forum users. The times these guys ran way back when are still good times for comparison, if anybody's interested in testing their skill.

I discovered that I'm pretty good, but not great with this car MT as I've tuned it. And actually I'm betting my tuning was better than theirs, so it's probably my MT skill is really bad.
