So what you are saying is you are afraid to race hardcore?

What are you, twelve? Honestly... if you were in one of my lobbies and were nagging on people and insulting them because they weren't racing "hardcore" (by your standards apparently) I would kick you out in a heartbeat. Believe it or not this isn't the be all end all racing simulator, as anyone who has actually driven a car at the track or been in a professional simulator can tell you. I guess the real challenge is how fast you can get your high-horse around the the 'ring.

I don't use driver aids or automatic transmission, does that mean I'm treating this like a simulator even if I'm using a DS3? Why don't you construct a cockpit and bolt a real racing seat in with harnesses and suit up?

He probably doesn't want to bother with the WRS because he'll think its too much work to make a new PSN ID with the GTP in it and do the qualifier.
I'd love to see him in there with us every week proving how 'good' he is.

Really? Im not forcing any of you to do it. Stop treating me like a bad person. And if you want to see how good I am then lets race. And you are right. Im not joining WRS if it demands its own name. Why? Because I actually race with a group of core racers and its just a waste of time to prove anything to you. What I merely did was challenge people to drop the assists and try to get better. I didnt ask any to prove anything too me.

But like I said. I'll be happy to race you just because you're amusing.

Look at you. You're blowing everything out of proportion. I challenged this community and alot of you made ridiculous excuses and I called them out on it. If you had merely said "No, because I race how I want to race" then fine, thats legitimate. You understand pal'?

I will say this one last time for you people who just skim through my messages:

I challenged the GT Community to not use aids, use manual, and cockpit view for premium cars. I WILL CALL YOU OUT ON A LAME EXCUSE TO TRY TO MAKE ME SEEM FOOLISH LIKE " Manual transmission doesnt feel realistic on a DS3."

If you dont want to accept my challenge, then don't. If you want to leave a reply as to why then go ahead but don't try to make me look like a fool with excuses like "In real life cars have TCS" because its irrelevant. Why? Because I challenged this community to not use aids, use manual, & cockpit view, I wasnt asking you to race like a real life racer.

I REPEAT: Here is my CHALLENGE: I, ADR_XCLUTCH, challenge the GT Community to race with no assists, use manual transmission and use cockpit view for premium cars.

Now please stop crying.

PS: To any moderators, I double posted because Im typing on PS3 so it has a limit of characters.

Saying a manual transmission on a PS3 controller isn't realistic is not a lame excuse that you need to bash people over. Clearly very few people care about the challenge. Not because they're scared or worried, but because it doesn't matter at all. Get over it.

You should have used the edit buttom.
Double posts are frowned upon.:)

EDIT: I wasn't aware of the PS3 character limit.

See, now that challenge you posted sounds a lot better.
In your OP you were very cocky and demanding and insulting the GT community.
Try to be a little more polite next time.

Its a lame excuse because everything about driving on a controller doesnt feel realistic.

I'll say this again. I am on a PS3. I have a limit of characters per text. I tried the 'EDIT' button but it wouldn't fit.

So are we required to buy wheels and build cockpits then? :sly:

No. Haha You are acting like a child. Read what I write thoroughly.

People said Manual transmission doesnt feel realistic on a DS3. So I said that driving on a DS3 doesnt feel realistic period. This shows that if driving with Manual transmission on a DS3 doesnt feel realistic, then neither should driving period with a DS3 so why are they using the DS3? (Its a retorical question.)
If you have no problem driving with a DS3, you should have no problem using manual transmission. I hope you read everything thoroughly.

Interesting. However, I just spray a bottle of champagne around the room every time I win. I then drink it straight from the bottle until it flushes out my sinuses... painfully. The unfortunate downside to this is having an acute alcohol dependency and double vision meaning that it's going to take a couple of years to get to lvl 40...

...I'm sick alot too. :yuck:

THAT'S the real racing simulator, right there!

Alternatively I just play it my way, after all, I paid for it.
GT5: The real drinking and driving simulator???:sly:
Go buy iRacing 2, then build a setup with 3 screens and a real car seat, dashboard, wheel, and make the seat move to the direction you drive the car, then you can say your a hardcore racing sim racer.

I'm messing with you. I don't think anyone here is taking this challenge of yours seriously. I don't think anyone here likes your attitude towards the community members. I think the number of sarcastic and humorous replies should be a clear indicator of that.

ADR_XCLUTCH, you are a:

To the OP, you arn't going to get any respect around here by dissing the WRS. Why don't you just try it to see where you rate? I don't want to say that your a "FRADY CAT' but your desires to find hardcore is there waiting for you. I would say that if you ever met up w/ some of the D1 gold cats they would make short work of you in full bareback mode. Oh yah you might even learn something about driving that you don't already know.

YES, THIS.👍👍

I'd have to say those D1 guys are the most 'hardcore.'

Thank you for hopping in my fellow WRS-er.

All of you people are PATHETIC. ADR_XCLUTCH is probably the best racer I have raced online. He is the reason I never use skid-recovery anymore and put TC on 1 instead of like 5. All he asked was to "ATTEMPT" to drive with using less aids then normal and you all are arguing over it and throwing a fit like an 8 year old. Grow up seriously.

He may have the skill, but taunting people isn't exactly professional:tdown:

^^^A taunt:grumpy:
He's flaunting his skill. Getting at people because they can't compete on a level that you're on is not the way for presenting a challenge to a community that accepts every type way of enjoying GT5, be it with or without assists.

When you challenge people to hold to some standard you risk going under the microscope.

He ruffles the feathers of people who hold their heads high around here because they are proud of what they have accomplished and isn't it nice to know that you use the moniker of GT PLANET in your handle and your not a member of the registry. Oh I didn't even mention his triple postings....

why would you be afraid to try out less aids? I tried it and was anything but "afraid". I see nothing wrong with trying something new.

Well, i turned them all off, and raced a stock(and tyres) F458, in the ferrari seasonal....yes, it was a huge challenge.

I'm sorry to say but I feel that this is very stupid for you to just say no driving aids = becoming better driver. What is the point of racing? To cross the finish line in first, to be the fastest not who is the most hardcore. You neglect the fact that even professionals have different driving styles and require means to help the car handle they way they need so they could perform at their best potential. Sometimes that means having to use tc or abs. Myself for example I do not like to use them because I have a very aggressive driving style and am very good at controlling slides so coming out of a corner i tend to get on the gas a bit earlier to try to get maximum exit speed. Now some cars don't have have very good grip in that certain situation so it is necessary for me to put a bit of tc on to improve my lap times. Because at the end of the day , the point is that fastest times = first and that is the name of the game.

And interior view in this game sucks. Your body adjusts for the vibrations during speeds and because you focus at certain points on the track while driving you should not be able to see pillars in your cockpit. Get in your car and go drive it and you will see what I mean.

...and its just a waste of time to prove anything to you.

...and here is the summed up response to your challenge by the majority of people.

Accept that others play the game differently - challenges in a game like GT5 are up to the player, and they certainly shouldn't have to listen to a belittling member of the community for them.

GT is a game first, to many people, and conveniently a simulator second. How they derive fun from it is up to them; sometimes, the aids are their preferred method. Do you use them? Do I? Nope. But it's all about choice.

Of course, you could find a much better way of presenting the idea of improvement through less reliance on the aids than you're currently using. As others have said - join the WRS, or even compare times in some of the premier leagues in the OLR boards. Certainly someone who takes the game this seriously wouldn't mind a bit of time to create a new PSN account, especially with the Seasonals making it very easy to earn big money fast ;)

So going 200 mph in a car is supposed to be smooth? Or bumpy?

So going 200 mph in a car is supposed to be smooth? Or bumpy?

Ever actually gone that fast in a race car before? Doubtful....

You and that ADRCLUTCHX (whatever his name is) are both a joke and no doubt are years younger than even me. 'Challenging' people to play 'hardcore' and belittling the community whilst doing it is just arrogant and certainly going to cause the sarcastic posts we've seen along with the others telling you to get over it and not demand people play the game the way you want them to.

Mods, why the hell hasn't this mess been locked yet?

Bumpyness would depend on the road itself and I don't imagine many being smooth. But your vision would still maintain its point of focus which is the road ahead of you and it would not vibrate the way it does in gt5. That is pure distortion and simply does not happen in real life. Now obviously you would see the car move and you would feel it but whatever you do see would be in your peripheral vision and would happen sort of in the background.

The most i have ever experienced in a car is 130 and that was not as bad as the game depicts it.

I am pretty sick of racing 'cocky' racers who use driver aids and think they're good. I am well aware of the hardcore GT racers who actually use no aids, interior view (Premium), and manual transmission but thats a small percentage.

Here is my challenge to all who care enough to read this: Drop the driver aids. After around level 20, you should just drop the driver aids (that includes using manual transmission and interior view.) This is a simulator. Treat it like one. Im aware that some people want to just have fun but thats just some people. The rest dont have an excuse. The rest are just lazy. If you want to get better, just answer and complete my challenge. Not just for 1 or 2 races. Make it a habit.
Actually it's that elitist attitude that makes me care even less about using cockpit view.
Not to mention 80% of the game doesn't have cockpit view. :sly:

Shall we go into detail on television size / cockpit view vision in GT5 vs. real life? I for one do not own a 120 inch (10 ft) tv, nor do you, so it's not very realistic using cockpit view then is it?
I can see better in a real car then I could on a 60inch TV with bumper cam by far, let alone the microscopic view that is cockpit.

How old are you? Like 21? Because I could REALLY care less. Don't you have something better to do than be a little SH-- and attempt to troll f---ing 16 year olds? And also you clearly didn't read my first post stating that "All he is asking is that you at least try to ATTEMPT to use less aids." The funny thing is whenever I tried this, my racing was a lot better and faster with the right amount of control. Aids do more harm than good as far as getting a podium position, and if you actually practice a bit with some car with out much aid, it's actually a lot more fun to use and wins more races. Maybe you should think about that next time before posting a useless reply.

1. The incar view shakes way way to much in GT5. In Iracing I can do it no problem but for whatever reason I can't get used to all the shaking in GT5.

2. My car IRL has ABS / Traction control / stability control. If I drive the Mazda RX-8 in game how is it cheating to use those. Not to mention almost every car in GT5 has ABS standard so it is hardly cheating to use those.

I guess you yell out cheater to people racing IRL on a track with a Nissan GT-R or a Mitsubishi Lancer on a track?

Mods, why the hell hasn't this mess been locked yet?

If the tone subsides, and this becomes what the OP calls it in the first place (merely a challenge, not an attempt at riling people up with belittling comments), then it's a worthy discussion on the merits of the aids available in game, and how they can or can't help people learn things like throttle control or counter-steering, things like that.

Things like this aren't in any way helping:

You and that ADRCLUTCHX (whatever his name is) are both a joke

(EDIT) - Nevermind, to avoid further infractions, this is being closed.

1. Look at NFS: Shift; the cockpit shakes as if an earth quake is happening on the inside.

2. ABS isn't really an aid to me so I see no real point in arguing about it being on or off.
