Man oh man - I've heard great things about this movie - and it's on tonight!

Quick question though - shall I watch it mor be disturbed? I am 15. So shall I?

It's pretty tame compared to a lot of stuff that comes out now.

It will probably disturb you though - it is a Stanley Kubrick film.

I read the book, and can honestly say that the whole thing was entirely distasteful. Hated every minute of it. Have not, did not, and will not watch the film.

It is mentally disturbing, not just blatant sensationalism. Nothing that goes on visually is all that bad (though there is a rape scene, among other things) but the story line will get to you if you can follow it. Definitely worth watching and pretty true to the book.

I read the book first, then saw the movie, and I wasn't disappointed in either. I must say, though, that I haven't repeated either experience, and I usually re-read books that I find truly worthwhile.

The film is an exploration of, and statement about, the role (necessity) of violence in civilization.

It's place in film history reminds me of Taxi Driver: A little dated and tame, but truly groundbreaking in it's contemporary context and worth seeing just for that.

I saw a show about Stanley Kubrik (sp?) over the weekend. It really made me want to see it again. A truly uncompromising and groundbreaking film.
