A few annoyances

Gran Turismo 5 is one of the very best racing games for serious circuit race fanatics (like me). Like every good game however, there are some very annoying things about this game.

1. There are cars in the game that don't even show up in either the used car or the new car dealerships.

2. You put in all this effort to win a series, and you wind up getting a completely useless car.

3. You win a decent car, but not only does it not have any relation to the cars you race against (as it has in recent Gran Turismos), but you really can't use it for anything.

4. B-Spec mode racing can drive you insane. From one make races where you know your car can win, but your driver obviously doesn't to unnecessary braking and half acceleration around corners.

With that last one, it almost seems like you have to upgrade your car so ferociously that you wind up with problem #2 or 3.

What really irritated me was when I was on another forum talking about Gran Turismo 4 and I asked why on earth I would put in all the effort to win the race just to get the Daimler-Benz (I think I spelled that right) Motor Carriage, and the only response I got was an insult. One guy called my naive for not knowing.


Any thoughts?

5. There are some cars in the game that are outrageously expensive, and not only do they not show up in the used car store, but it's not like you can save up your credits (due to previous annoyances) to buy one. I mean really, 20,000,000 credits for a race car from the 70s? :grumpy: :mad: 🤬 :banghead:
 
I understand where you're coming from, but these topics have already been covered extensively.

And then double post. Ah well, I think it's kind of cute someone thought this would be a new, fresh topic, after well over two years of the game being out now.
 
Instead of all this, can I just get some help? No one else seems to be struggling to get their b-spec drivers to stop making such stupid mistakes. This has completley halted my progress and I feel like there is no way around it. I'm sorry I don't know all the facits of this site, but that just comes with being new. I don't have time to search thousands of posts to see whether or not someone else just so happened to struggle with keeping their b-spec driver's wits about them.

I'm sorry if this comes off the wrong way, but I have hit a standstill. I tried searching the forum, to no avail. I need help, or I might as well discard the game altogether.
 
#1 The search function is the upper right button

#2 the only way to get your "Bobs" to quit being noobs is to make them race. I found that creating a second profile and save to run all your Bob's in a single remote race. 200% xp/money so it will bump you quick and give you extra cashish.

I won't disagree B-spec can be a huge pain, First thing is to level up your drivers, the higher the skill level the less nooby mistakes they make. Try some of the B-spec Seasonals perhaps. Also don't push your drivers too hard, they will make mistakes when under pressure.
 
In your GT5 GT mode go to "community" and there is a symbol that looks like headphones thats where you can run remote races. I suggest a second profile as you can only use one driver from the hosting profile.

Such as the Esperante GTR 1, the C9 Sauber Mercedes, the Chaparell 2J and 2D. You know, cars I could actually use. :grumpy::mad:🤬

To your last point, my only problem is even my most experience driver, to whom I retired out of blinding frustration was doing stupid things. It is almost as though if I don't push them to their limits, they won't perform. For instance, why the 🤬 should a driver feel the need to put their foot on the brake at any time on Daytona, while driving a Toyota Tacoma? I understand and agree with the concept of driving safe, but for the love of humanity, NASCAR stock cars don't even brake on this track!

Like the Nissan 370z GT Academy Tuned Car from a Lvl. 21 ticket, and the Nissan GT-R GT Academy Special for getting all golds on the S Licence. Also the Redbull X1s and hidden cars. (Redbull JP Flag Color, etc)

Either that, or he may be speaking of the cars that were in GT4 but not GT5. (Daimler carriage, Auto Union, etc)

Cars like that too yes. But I may never reach the red bull point, my b-spec drivers are driving me bananas.

What level is your bob? I found that sticking him in a good car and doing a couple of the 650pp seasonals gets the level up quick and he doesn't make many mistakes
 
You also need to choose the temprament carefully for your Bobs - too aggressive and they'll spin out lots under duress (ie: you pushing them) too calm and they'll brake frequently. The different parameters are all there when you choose the type of driver.

But like the rest have said - put you Bobs through the remote races to level them up quickly.

Yes! I've noticed that. Hey, I have no problem with enjoying the drive, but only when the race is in the bag. But in an intense race, NOT COOL. Equilibrium is key. I understand. I'm beginning to see a link between online racing, which I cannot do right now, and game progression, which is slowly grinding to a halt.
