I've read in the official PS2 magazine, that you get a ten second penalty when you're crashed into a car and in a wall.So they said, no cheating anymore... It's a nice idea, but i hope you can turn it on or off... Does someone know some more from this?

rumors, rumors, rumors, rumors . . .

I'm not very good at english, so EXCUSE ME. I'm doing my best.:irked:

There is a penalty, it's in GT4P and is expected to be in GT4 as well, you can't turn it on or off, besides that would take away the whole point of it being a penalty. It's not too harsh, it only cuts in on the bigger crashes.

Thanx live4speed!:D

That was all i asked, miata13b, my son. :sly:

And you must post with proper grammar too, then.;)

There's an assumption that English is everybody's first language. Pay it no mind, since you're a Hollander.
👍
The current most accurate rumor is that your car gets a speed limiter for 10 seconds following a major grass cut, wall bang, or AI collision. This is apparently aimed at keeping the future online component more fair. Exactly how it will be implemented, of course, remains to be seen.

It has been implemented in GT4P, it will be in GT4 either the same as or very similar to that. Or were you just referring to it in the online mode?

Live cant I ask you something, so how did you get penelties in GT4P? Going of course, how hard of a hit.. stuff like that right and depending on how fast you were going effects the time limit correct, I just want to get it right. And for the people who say why start making wishing threads etc.. last time I checked he never said "I wish" he just stated what he read..

I think - if they do those rules in GT4 - It would be thesame rules online and offline. But i don't really care, because i haven't got (yet???) online mode.:(

Live, dont forget maybe some people dont want to play by the rules that you have to get penalize when you crash or cut the grass. Even though i think it would be cool with that rule and dont mind having it, i think it would be cooler if it has an option that if you want it on have it on, if you dont want it on then turn it off.

As for online, i think they shouldnt have a choice because if someone turn it on and the other turn it off that wouldnt be fair at all. What if the one who turn it off runs into the one with the penalty on then they are screwed. I think for online play they should automaticly be on.

Offline wise i think its cool to have options.

It's pretty forgiving, it's always 10 seconds but don't be intimidated thinking it's like the licence tests. I've hit walls pretty hard and got away with it, tbh though I've never done any tests as to how much you can get away with, the speed isn't the only variable, the angle of the car is another like if you slide into the wall you can get penalised at slightley lower speeds ect.

It's one of the primary ways to win, if you can't drive.

This penalty system is great, it will force you to earn your victory.

what about kids that like to play but cant race clean?

I think I'll be making a list of known dirty drivers. I try my best to race clean - so, naturally, I'm going to look for racers to do the same. But I realize that I'm going to end up racing up against some grade "A"-holes (if you know what I mean) :)

Hopefully, PD will implement some backend help in this matter. Stuff like password protected servers/hosting, horsepower and/or car class restrictions and tightening up that 10 second penalty.

whats going to stop idiots from turning around and going the wrong way just to piss people off?

I hate that...i can never race my mates because if i am winning they start doing doughies and just muking around...it's so freaking annoying.

I remember when i first got GT3 a looong time ago, I was a little bit of a dirty racer because to me it was a little hard, and i hadn't played GT1 or GT2 at that time. But as time went on, such as now, I try to pretend that something will happen to my car if i hit another car, so i try not to hit other computer races. When i race my friends, sometimes they are dirty for the heck of it, but i hate that now.

Doesn't PGR2 have an online feature that if you're stationary too long or facing the wrong direction, you'll become a ghost. Hopefully, PD is watching, because I think that's a decent feature.

What do you mean with ghost? That you can't drive anymore?
Or that your car doesn't count anymore?

And i don't care about it... Why should you face the wrong direction for a long time?

I think what he means by ghost is that although you can still drive the wrong way or stay still(e.g. roadblock), you cannot collide with other cars after a certain length of time. This prevents people from going backwards & trying to wreck anyone elses race.
