id prefer to see my tax money and my countrys tax money goto something a bit more important, but lets save this for the opinions thread id hate to get in trouble!

Your are obviously quite healthy at the moment; your luck but you wouldn't talk like that if were ill yourself ( or your relatives )... The American Health system is really bad, realize that... but that would lead back to the "civilized nations thread"....

You would like to believe that were I to become needy I would become immoral like you - because it helps you justify your own lack of respect for others' property. However, if you read enough of my posts you would realize quite thoroughly that were I to be very ill or hungry, I would not change my morality.

It is this view of people that despises me. This concept that human beings are inherently evil - that they are all capable of immoral behavior. You think rather lowly of your fellow man, and it reflects on your perception of yourself as a basically immoral person.

To turn to crime because you didn't earn what you want is pathetic. Please don't presume to know me well enough to predict my actions.

Something a bit more important than HIV/AIDS...? With an estimated 40 million people world-wide with HIV, you don't think the problem is bad enough yet? Or is it because 'it doesn't affect you'... or your country...? That it is just Africans, homosexuals and drug addicts (probably not the words you'd use) that become HIV positive? The sooner that people like you realise that HIV/AIDS is not merely a 'lifestyle' disease, and that it can affect anyone, the better... your attitude is both selfish and repulsive... and your comments elsewhere prove that you have about as little real understanding of this issue as it is possible to have...

Well, we talked about that before... and we just have a different opinion... and a different definition of morals... you have your dollar morals and I have my humanity morals... which concept is right ? We won't find out... Well... then I take my bag, fill it up with all my immorality and go back to my books, do some learning... what's the title of that book?...Ahh chemistry for medical students.....

Mine are human morals as well. I prefer not to take another human's property.

In my mind, it's quite simple.

AIDS has a solution currently - don't have sex, don't share needles, and test blood donors carefully, or donate blood for yourself.

Other diseases don't have these simple solutions, which is why we should concentrate on them. If some country his having massive AIDS problems, then that country can do whatever it feels necessary to solve the problem. In the meantime I would prefer that MY tax dollars get spent on diseases that MY country actually HAS a problem with.

Of course, this thread started with a breakthrough that didn't come from my country - which is fine... more power to them. But I'm not excited about it because I still don't think AIDS is a big problem.

It's funny, and HATEKORE is most likely gay judging from his avitar... but AIDS is not a gay disease.

Intellect insults from a guy that worships a band that is underground but worshipped by millions?

I also heared another rumour that frequentley does the rounds in Africa is that the condoms are contaminated so of no use in prevention to HIV.

I also heared another rumour that frequentley does the rounds in Africa is that the condoms are contaminated so of no use in prevention to HIV.

I would have thought that any condom, even one with no spermicide, is better than none, as long as it is intact and made to the industry standard. That said, it is quite common practice for people to use condoms more than once, especially somewhere where supplies of condoms may be extremely limited... it might sound gross, but that is what condoms used to be like here too, i.e. re-usable...

The only way to overcome these daft (and dangerous) rumours like the one you mentioned, is to educate people not only about their options, but also how to use those options safely. It's a mammoth task, especially when whole governments and countries refuse to accept that AIDS is even a real disease. It is also made harder by the fact that HIV/AIDS still carries a massive stigma (despite the fact that the fastest growing 'group' of HIV infections is heterosexual women), and that some people would rather hide from the problem as if it didn't/couldn't affect them, rather than face up to reality.
