Oh my god, I freakin' love that car. Twin-Turbos for plenty of Horses and the 3L V6 has enough bottom end power to get you off the line. Drop it down a little, stiffer springs, Sports wheels Nismo breaks and some Enkei 5 spokers in the, say 18" variety and you've got an awesome street or Targa car.

On SPEED Channel, I seen the new Pontiac GTO drift car driven by Rhys Millen. Someone mentioned the GTO making it to the semi-finals I think. So now that I seen this machine, there was an Oldies song that Smashmouth once remade for "Shrek:"

(singing) "...now I'm a believer!..."

Well, now that I seen this, I thank SPEED Channel for showing me the drift car that was on the drift circuit. At first, I thought it would be a 1970s GTO with fancy graphics and aerodynamic body parts that went drifting (this would really, really, REALLY p*ss off American car lovers. Seeing a "young punk" drift out an American classic). In any event, there you have it. Carry on.

I dont think you could ever get a 1970's GTO to drift. Ever. Not with that much weight sitting on that primitive suspension. Drift is the ultimate test of a car's balance and poise. GTO, by definition, has neither. It is raw, uncontrolled power (which is not always good). I6 OHC Tempest would probably be more of a drift machine, if we are going to go into the fantasy land where people drift classic musclecars.

And as an American car lover, if I did see a 70 GTO drifitng, I would be the opposite of pissed. I would be impressed.

First a penguin pimp, now a Civic pimp?

But yeah, it was pretty interesting to say the least. Any more comments related to this one?
