Oh, by the way, I wonder what the banned dude would say about the McLaren F1. I'd be HIGHLY interested. Probably would say "My 'Vette is priced much less and performs just as beautifully as the McLaren."

No - in fact, it's just a turbocharged version of the 2.4 found in the Chrysler PT Cruiser, Chrysler Sebring, Dodge Caravan, Dodge Stratus, Jeep Liberty, Jeep Wrangler, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Mitsubishi Galant, Mitsubishi Lancer, and Mitsubishi Outlander. (Mitsubishi has their own 2.4L, which shares absolutely nothing in common with the Chrysler besides displacement and number of cylinders.) Like the WRX with the Impreza, it's not the same engine found in base-model Neons (The 2.4L is a stroked 2.0L), which use a 2.0L four unique to that model (it's also the smallest engine Chrysler makes) (Chrysler designed and builds the 1.6L Mini engine (which in and of itself is basically a debored and slightly stroked 2.0L)).

Just being picky.

I didn't know that about Mitsubishi - thanks for the correction. I stand by the statement I made regarding the smallest engine Chrysler makes.

Looking through some of the posts there seems to be resentment against the Mustang. There is nothing wrong with the Mustang and is the only American sports car left that with in the reach of many's pocket books.

To each is own though, me personally I don't care for Japanese cars. I think most of them don't suit me what so ever.

But I'm a truck guy. I think Japanese trucks are just a joke. America has made trucks for many more years and knows what they are doing.

I'm not going to say much more, cause I've hashed this 100's of times. Everyone has there own tastes.

If you have a stereo, that is louder than the Concorde, and you roll thru my neighborhood with it cranked, windows breaking from the volume, and blood running out of your ears...you might be a ricer.

Come on Gil I'm not a ricer. I just have a loud ass stero system. But I on the other hand won't roll around late at night with it cranked. I know there are others that would perfer to sleep then listen to my booming.

The mustang appeals to lots of people. It's range of price and performance is impressive. Nobody can argue that....successfully.

Hopefully you're talking about pickup trucks and not 'trucks' to mean pickups, SUVs, and vans.

But wait a minute....vans? When was the last time anyone heard of a Japanese van? Minivan don't count cause there well not vans.

I'm wasn't a big fan of Japanese cars until I saw some different types. There are some interesting rides if you have a look. Below I've included the more interesting ones.

Honda Accord Inspire
a 5cyl cross between an Accord and a Legend. This luxury sedan had RWD.

Nissan Cedric
I luxury/sports sedan with a 3.0 V6 (same as the 300ZX I think and available with turbo) and RWD

I'll upload some pics in a second

yep uses a VG30DE or VG30DET same as the 300zx, but they are setup abit differently

Honda Accord Inspire-clearly inspired by American cars yet built in Japan for their market.

no not really all standard nissans (turbos) have farely low boost pressure

the exhaust, intake plenum, air filter and other cosmetic things

i think it puts out the same as the Z31 300zx VG30DET, but the Z32 300zx VG30DETT puts out more

no the nissan president is FR and uses the VH45DE 4.5L V8 (not east west), the car is based off the Y31 cedric/cima with the VH41DE

Sneaky buggers, why the strange plenum and intake, I thought there was a sort of V with those plastic parts (I now realise that they are the timing belt covers)

yep, you got it. they are sneeky that pic makes ya look twice

dont know, i think as the president was such a great luxury car so nissan went for something different and modern, to make it seem like a whole new engine, even know its the same old VH45DE

You can't confuse what's under the bonnet of my beast though

you could always put plastic covers over it to look like a whole new engine :)

Doesn't make any sense, The cars are nice though, a bit strange from the rear but good looking none the less. I want a Cedric with the quad lights in black and the cream leather interior, they are a very different car.

I want a chrome rocker cover but thats a long way off, I need to finish the exterior, interior and other little things on the car before I add any cosmetic upgrades for the engine.
