A Sims-drifting Adventure

I mentioned earlier that one can post the full lap... but I think, especially with hp still low, you can only post the corners...

For example... in this case (trial mountain) you don't have to include the straight stretch - will save file space and will make downloading easier...

Well then you should know that this is not a challange or competition..

But feel free to post a vid :) Maybe we can catch some tips from your or any one elses vids...

Hey all, what's up? :) Took me a long while to get used to the settings (especially with stabilizers at 1) and with turbo, but turned out pretty fun afterwards.

My vid is uploaded... it's at here. Enjoy!

on the contrary, I enjoy the lower hp of the 180SX Type X, mines only runnin 345hp, you just have to get used to using the natural inertia of the car and not waste any whilst entering/exiting a corner.

I recorded my lap earlier, just gotta get it in my vid cam and arrange it, I'll try and have it posted up tomorrow or later this morning

Link doesn't work...

Drifting with sims on low power is hard, but anything worth doing is. If you keep practicing with it, you will get used to it, and then you will be able to drift like a pro. As Catch said, this teaches you the base level handling characteristics for the car, which inturn gives you a place to start your tuning. Also, the reason the stabilizers are down to 1 is, the whole purpose of stabilizers is to keep the car rigid, and stop body roll. These things are detrimental to drifting, so they are a bit redundant to use on a drift car IMHO. Anyway, my vid should be up tomorrow. I'm not at home now, but when I go back, I will check out everyones vid.;)

I'm done.. took corners many different ways, so I'm not going to post just a lap... hope it's ok by you guys... gonna add a couple of effects to spice it up... you can still see and analyze the drifts in most normal clips... so I'm off to edit... will post the vid later...

:)

I got some laps recorded. One with a wheel and one without. I think I'll post the one without since there is more smoke in that one :D I'll go edit the video now.

Saw the vid :).. Glad you had fun.. that's what it's all about ... check out vids from other participents and see where you can improve.... keep practising :)

I'm on 56k so it's going to take me a while to upload

Catch-my-Drift?: Do you need a video for this first stage? I don't want to keep on uploading big videos :(

Ideally... but if you think you are comfortable with your drifting.. than it's also fine if you choose not to post a vid.. I know it can be a hassle at times... but it would be nice for everyone to see where we started from and how we improved.. IMO :)

You never know, maybe in the future new memebers will use our vids as training guides

Cool, can't wait to see the vid. Anyway, I am glad a lot of you put your personal oppinions aside, and tried out something different. This is how we progress. Good job on the vids, I look forward to seeing the progress of some of you non sim people. Keep up the practice. Also, I will have my vid up, as soon as I find someone to host the vid, hint, hint.;)
