A-Spec 420PP Japanese 80's Festival

Best car for me so far...HondaCivic 1500 '83 Nordschleife at 345pp 9:01.3xx .
1.875.299 cr180.879 xp 170%, havent opened game for a few days.
343pp, 1.912.523cr.........340pp 1.968.360cr 189.856xp

338pp 2.005.584 cr193.446xp
335pp 2.061.420 cr 198.832 xp

Good onya Noway', been waiting for a clue as to which is a good car to use with a reduced PP.

Edit...Unfortunately I don't have one so I'll try something else.

Thanks Dalone, at 333pp 9:09...lucky to get draft down last straight. 2.183.244 cr, 210.582 xp at 200%. On share if you want to borrow it psn bellitsa

What weight are you running it at?

The PP system punishes light cars. There is a "magical" line at 900 kg.
Anything below this in a low-power car with comfort softs and you will struggle to be competitive.

A Honda City will probably be fastest without weight reduction and ~165 kg of ballast (If you can get it up to 420 PP with power mods) on fast tracks.

That's good to know. The ballast did the trick.

I've tuned up a Lancer EX Turbo (mostly because I owned an Australian version). Wins pretty easy so might tune it back a bit for more challenge.

Thanks Noway I'll give it a go. I tried a few other cars, the last one being the Lancer EX Turbo which the poster above mentioned but it wasn't in the race at 333PP.

I had some fun with this seasonal. I used the MR2 G-Limited (I think it is in the OCD) Tuned it to 150hp and went nuts with stock settings (except gearing) Had a blast and easily won all the races by 10-20 seconds.

Drifting all corners was immense of fun :D

You seem to have won a jackpot amount of money with that car!

Did you get that car in the UCD or OCD?

Will surely try this car tonight.

Have you tried the Nissan Exa Canopy? It's got great handling in the turns.

UCD. Havent tried the EXA..will give it a try

Did you also mod the Civic in anyway or just drove it as a complete stock?

just ran the Exa, won at 340pp 2.034.348 cr. hr turbo, problem is top speed.

Civic tuned , and make sure you get a good starting grid, no mazda or the skyline gtr 1st

An old favourite of mine that one - I like how nasty it looks from behind .

I set up one for Motegi at 420pp (no low pp challenge here) and just beat the MX5 with a good run. It's a challenging track for front drivers.

Used the Mitsubishi HSR-II Concept ‘89 detuned to around 399 and won thee events after a couple of tries ! I also found it helps to cycle the cars ! I had success whenever the Honda City Turbo was the lead car !

Are you really winning at 9:01 on the ring? I'm getting 2nd or 4th with that time. Remember what your starting opponent was?

Beat Mt. Aso with the Motul Civic at 348PP (can only detune that low with dirty oil). Reward was 1.815m with only 130% bonus.

Had six seconds to spare over the Skyline, and wasn't a perfect race. Need to find a car that can go even slower!

Over this past weekend, I decided to run some '80's Japanese cars at the 'Ring, so my first step was to take a look at the rabbits for the first few lineups. Normally, the first twelve lineups have the following cars on pole and the fastest "rabbit" will approximately run the time as listed:

Lineup...Car on pole, car in P2.....................Ring lap time:
------ ---------------------------------------------------
# 1 ....MX-5 Miata NA '89, Ballade Sports CRX '83..............8:51.0
# 2 ....Eunos Roadster NA, Skyline GTS-t Type M '89..........8:50.5
# 3 ....Skyline GTS-t Type M, Ballade Sports CRX '83..........8:50.9
# 4 ....Eunos Roadster NA, Skyline GTS-t Type M '89..........8:50.0
# 5 ....Honda City Turbo '83, Skyline GTS-t Type M '89.......8:53.5
# 6 ....Honda Civic 1500 3door, Corolla Levin GT-Apex '83....9:04.0
# 7 ....Accord Coupe '88, MX-5 Miata NA '89.....................8:56.2
# 8 ....MX-5 Miata NA '89, Sprinter Trueno GT-Apex...........8:50.1
# 9 ....Accord Coupe '88, Skyline GTS-t Type M '89............8:56.0
#10 ....Honda City Turbo '83, Accord Coupe '88.................9:05.0
#11 ....Accord Coupe '88, MX-5 Miata NA '89....................8:56.5
#12 ....Honda City Turbo '83, Eunos Roadster NA '89..........8:52.5

So the two lineups with the slowest "rabbits" seem to be lineup # 6 and lineup # 10. I have run against some of the above lineups more than once, and only saw about a half second time difference by the end of the 'Ring lap, so the AI is fairly consistent for most of the above lineups. However, when running against the two grids with the slower rabbits, I have seen a 2-3 second time differential (caused in part by my car as I pass the AI near the end of the lap, and also caused in part by the variation in how the AI passes each other during the lap and how late in the lap the fastest rabbit gets past the slow P1 car).

Has anyone seen a different set of lineups after a game re-start?

Twice, I have seen a different set of lineups after a game re-start, but I'm not sure what I might have changed within my game to get the different set of lineups, so I'm still doing some research on this.

Are you really winning at 9:01 on the ring? I'm getting 2nd or 4th with that time. Remember what your starting opponent was?

Try running against either lineup # 6 or lineup # 10. A time of 9:01 will win against either of these lineups.

See you on the track!

True story, I was only 2 secs behind the skyline just a few corners from the back straight, got overconfident with my MR2 86 SC and span off. I left a large part of my soul on the track getting there:/
