Looked at the ZZII but didn't like to HP after adjusting the limiter. Ran an NSX pretty well. Looking forward to using a variety of high-end street beasts for this one. Don't much like street cars on Dote d'Azur. It should be for race types, but it still will be interesting for few days.:gtpflag:

I cant even load this track never have anyone have any ideas? The clock span for an hour until i turned it off.

Guessing delete game data and reload it. Seems like that always kind of fixes the problem, or see if you can run the track in arcade to load it up and then it may work.

Well, I FINALLY won!! I can't believe how much trouble I had with this event. I can't lie, so I've got to admit that I turned on Active Steering (Strong). I hate the fact that I did, but at least I've got the monkey off my back. I won't use it again and I'll see if I truly can win this thing with no aids. Oh, I used the Acura NSX-R Prototype LM Road Car.

It's strange. I do 90% of my solo driving on CM and CS ties. This event allows us to use SH tires, yet I felt like I was sliding on almost every turn. Monaco isn't a very high speed circuit, for road cars, in most areas...but it felt like my rear tires were lacking the level of grip I expected.

Turn the aero up to max, ALB. 👍
Hmmm. I think I did. I'm not on my PS3 anymore, but I will double-check when I hop back on later. One thing that I was doing in my first few attempts was severely over-driving my cars when heading into turns. Then I'd have to slam on the brakes, I'd end up understeering & plowing like crazy and by time I'd get back on the gas I lost all momentum. You really have to take a lot of these turns silky smooth so you can carry speed through the turn and get on that gas to fully power out of it. Without question, there is no room for poor driving in this event. This is a true Expert Level event in that regard.

If PD continues this way, I am going to throw my PS3 and GT6 out, buy a game PC and start iRacing, RaceRoom or whatever decent sim racer available.
I was probably unlucky with my sets of AI, but I needed three hours to FINALLY win the event. Tried 6 different cars, just to get blocked, brake checked, slammed into the barriers, torpedoed, and see AI pulling away as if they had at least 100PP more, including decent tires...
Finally I won with the GSX R (after 6 or 7 tries) with a margin of (believe it or not) 17", doing same laptimes as before... Ridiculous...👎:nervous:

I like the game to be hard, difficult to win, no problem.
But this is over the top.
This and the fact that PD seems to imply different track boundaries (check the F40 seasonal, where you could completely cut the last chicane - found that out too late - and the GT Academy where you are barely allowed to hit a kerb) and several other gripes, may just be the last drop...and take the fun out for me.

Seems that there are "easy" sets of AI too, which makes it more like a lottery. I do not like the way it is going.
I would really like to improve my skills, but this way, that will be very hard.
The way AI is driving now is NOT a good example either. Just dive bomb into other cars... That may be fun for adolescents, not for me...
Sorry for the whining... :D

I almost always exclusively use MR cars at this track, they seem to rotate well around the tight turns.

I had a funny thing happen. On lap 2 a xbow was in 7th. I tapped him in the back a touch before turn 1 and the xbow took of like a bat out of hell and passed the entire field and was in first by middle of lap 3. On lap 4 the xbow slowed down and I got the win, I just thought it was funny. I was driving the garaiya.

It would be nice if ps3 could record and upload to YouTube like the ps4. Sometimes the bursts of speed seem comical. I watched opponents on replay and was surprised, they used clutch a lot, for seconds at a time.

Mann this one was a bit tough, i tried with the Alpine VGT as others did.. car is too wild at exit and i have to wrestele not to lose it so i loose a lot of time and gave up with this car.
But i did it with the Chrome line Audi R8. Putted weight reduction to stage 3 and lowered the power so it reaches 550pp
I overtook the leader with a lap to go

This race is utter BS, using my ZZII which i know grips like crazy, im driving like a granny and yet car just wont stop sliding around. im even down to 300BHP but still its like driving on ice. Yet the AI just drive around like its a Sunday drive and i can't better then 2nd. I've tried 6 times. Think ill sack this one, as my PS3 isn't like the UK's hot weather, so have it on for to long. well done PD you win on this one.

I used the ZZII for this and it felt like I was running a rallycross event with all the drifting through the corners, of course smiling the whole time having plenty of fun. And even after being nudged into the wall and getting spun around 540* exiting the Nouvelle Chicane in the third lap and helplessly watching while 4th-7th rammed their way past to retake their positions from me, it was all too easy to catch and pass them again and even tho the leading Ford GT was about 20 seconds ahead in the forth lap he seemed to have slowed to a crawl and I passed him at the start of the fifth lap never to look back. finished the race with a 10 second gap.

My ZZII was very bruised from all the rough tactics the AI were dishing out as I tried to navigate around them clean as I could. :ouch:

Have tried the following: Ford GT 15th anniversary, Corvette Stingray 15th anniversary, Sls amg, lamborgini murcielago sv, ferrari f40, ferrari 430 scuderia and it's always the same, I can't get past the first 2 cars in front of me it really p's me off. Any ideas what to use please?

The pp equality and rubber band ai in this game is probably the worst I have seen.
This:tup:
First 3 laps was 24 secs behind and losing time. Was 8th at this point. Then by some miracle I was 8 secs adrift at the end of lap 4 (5th) and on the final lap I squeezed past first place car at the bus stop. My laps were consistent 1:42s. I used the Corvette ZR1 C9.

There was a totally mad GTR that was keen to be at my side through the swimming pool complex!!

Really bizarre!

Was dreading this but ended up really enjoying it! Gold on second attempt in my 458 italia. Nailing the swimming pool section was key, made up serious time on each lap and caught the zonda just before the tunnel on the last lap

Try the Honda NSX LM roadcar using Praino's tune like I did. If I can win, so can you!

Thanks for the advice on the NSX. I will give it a try now.

Have you or anyone else found a 550pp car tuned by Praiano that works well. He uses the same wheel as I and has similar driving style, so I love using his tunes. I tried the LFA Nurp Package and got blown away. Tried the Enzo Ferrari as well and did better than the LFA. I think I scored 3rd but that was 15-20 seconds behind first. It's weird since I used to pride myself in being good at this track. Again, any help is more than welcome. I actually like it when people post videos of their victories because it helps me figure out when to brake, tube hard, etc.

Your help is appreciated. Worst case I can just go down Mr P's 550pp list and keep trying that way but that's a little tidius. But I did save up $30 million from the classic car seasonal race that's been posted for the last two weeks. I ended up getting pretty darn good at it.

Thank you everyone!

Chris

With a fair amount of cars I used traction control on 1. I didn't mind because lots of cars have traction control in real life, and this is a slippery track.

I tried using zz2 but started laughing so hard at the lack of traction I had two quit. My real life diamond star had more power than zz2 and almost never broke traction with awd, and that was with terrible all seasons. In fact I think it had better traction in snow than the zz2 has with sports hard at this track.

If this was a new game, and not a sequel of the earlier gran turismo games I have a feeling reviewers would be screaming bloody murder at some of the games tendencies.

Thought I would just get the gold and go to sleep but got stuck trying cars out. Really enjoying this class of cars.

So far every car is a winner.

ZZII was fastest with best lap 1:39.1xx.

I can't believe it, the AI in this race were actually kicking my butt for once. I can't even beat them in my GT-R Black Edition and I always won 550pp races with that car in the past.

Hi. Praianio's tune for this NSX is for a 600pp tune. Did you just reduce the power and leave the rest as is? Thank you!

I added 100kg at -50, added stage 3 tuning, left turbo original, reduced power to 87.5%, works out to be 516hp ( that was the most HP combo I found at 550pp ) Hope this helps!

If you get the X-Bow R up front then it seems to be the best bet... the Zonda has just way too far of a lead, especially if you got some slow cars in the back of the pack blocking you. Considering the X Bow R is only 555pp, it's definitely better than getting the Viper ACR up there with 580pp.

I've managed to beat it twice now..once with the NSX LM and once with the Suzuki Gsx. The key to this race is to not over drive and slide around...be smooth.I was running lap time around 1:41-1:42 and yes I short cut the chicane :D
I can only get bronze on GT Academy..so if I can win this race others should be able to do it pretty easily

I went and modded a R32 Skyline GT-R and I managed 2nd place. Either I try modding a different car or I just make some adjustments.

Not sure I understand the AI cars in the race. Drive something that can only do 1:44's and it puts a bunch of really quick cars in, then I switched to my X-Bow and it had a much slower field. Won by a decent margin, running 1:40's without traffic. Really not a fan of Monaco either, always hated racing there.

what car should I use (i am losing by six seconds at best with an Xbow)

After trying 3 or 4 different cars (and a couple of tunes each one) :( I decided to give the opportunity to the x-bow. Then just starting the race I said: Oh yes, this is a job for super x-bow! :)👍 After a very good driving by the way, I found myself in second place right on lap 5, and two curves before the finish line, when trying to pass to the first place, the 🤬 made me impossible to win by crashing & bumping me. :irked: This happened twice!.... Ok, breath and take it easy.... I will make a new attempt. But I suggest you the x-bow definitely. I got Silver for now ;)
