A spec points question

I just recently started noticing that the a spec points i am awarded in races are not always added up to my total a spec points in the "home" screen. Can somebody explain why?

If you redid a race for more A-Spec points, then only the difference of the first and second times is added to your total.

You also recieve a maximum of 200 points total for all Family Cup races.

What if i clear the race, do i get the full points or no? Or the only way to really get points is to go do all those races i b speced?

Clearing the race just clears the medals, not the points.
Doing the race you did in B-Spec will give you all the points you got for that race. Assuming that you haven't done them in A-Spec ever.

Clearing the race has no effect - you will keep the a-spec points already earned. And, yes, the only way to get a-spec points is to race the complete race in a-spec - one b-spec lap = 0 a-spec points.

that why, when your have the screen infront of you, where all your opponents are one, on the top right its written "Best A-Spec 67" as example.

And just to further clarify totals, if you rerun a race that show best A-spec points: 67, and win 130 points, you only get the difference (63 points) added to your total. You only accumulate the best A-spec run of any race.
