Before this idea gets flamed, I do realise that this won't happen but I think it is a valid question regarding not only seasonals, but overall enjoyment of GT5. Also I am grateful of these bonus races so this should not be seen as a complaint against the current system (save that for the other threads).

So the current format of seasonals is to find 1 car that will suit the regulations and drive it around 5 tracks, the last of which is from the track editor. The challenge offered is sometimes in keeping with big real world events (for instance, the french seasonal as build up to the Le Mans 24hrs). This got me wondering what other events would be covered on the motorsport calendar. Being an F1 fan, the Monaco GP has just passed and is the most prestigious race on the calendar. Even better yet, the track is in GT5.

Therefore I imagine you COULD (and I don't ever expect this will actually happen) have a seasonal of 5 races around the same track, but in 5 classes of car. Start in sport hatches, then onto "class B" style german tourers, supercars, historic racers before finally ending up in the Ferrari formula cars.

Would this actually interest drivers though? I was a big fan of the original seasonal races which required a range of cars to be used over a range of tracks, but if you had to choose 5 races in either the same car or at the same track what would you choose to do? I prefer hunting around the garage for a car that I think will suit the race well and then taking on the other cars, whatever track it is on. Currently you only do that once and then race it 5 times. Yes the changing track does sometimes change the requirements or tuning of the car, but generally the car does not change. This will highlight for some however is it the 1000+ cars keeping you addicted to the game or the 60+ tracks?....

This actually sounds like a really good idea, IMHO. I think it would change things up a bit and add some spice to the current seasonal format.

I still think they need to make a X2010 seasonal to be honest with ludicrous payouts. That would actually give me reason to use one of mine lol.:sly:

I like the idea in general. Another possibility would be 5 races/5 separate sets of car requirements/restrictions. I.E.
A NASCAR race using NASCARs on Daytona superspeedway. A touring car race on Nürburgring. A LM race on Le Sarthe. A JGTC race on Tokyo. And a "Supercar" race on their custom track for the event with only a PP limit on what car you could use.

The trend has been for the online car dealership to contain a selection of cars suitable for the seasonal events.
Your proposal assumes everyone will have an arsenal of vehicles at their disposal for the events.
I don't think the online car dealership has enough slots to offer a wide enough array of cars to suit those kind of varied requirements.
No doubt the cars that would be included in the dealership will be seen as the only cars worth using.
I think there will be many newer GT5 gamers excluded from such an event.

I'd love to drive the F2007 around Monaco, even though the GT5 version isn't really the same track as is the real Circuit de Monaco.

I think there will be many newer GT5 gamers excluded from such an event.

What do you think of the Ferrari F1 event then? Isn't it rather exclusive, as it requires a car of 10 or 12.5 million to compete in?

Differences being the event only required two different cars.
Each of those two were equally competitive and didn't really matter which one you picked.
The cars are always available in the new car dealership.

I don't see the cost as a limiting factor.

I was just observing how the seasonal races are usually prefaced by what's offered in the online car dealership.
It's structured so that any player has available means at their disposal to participate.
The proposed idea might have issues following suit.
